Sharon Newman's hidden desires could reunite her with Nick Newman on Young and the Restless

Sharon's recent revelations on The Young and the Restless included a shocker that longtime fans suspected. She still loves Nick.

The care Sharon Case and Joshua Morrow's characters have for each other after their divorce remained open. Two failed attempts to remarry underscored the depth of their connection, but Sharon's expression of love in a daydream sequence reignited the potential for an eventual reunion.

Ties to Cassie Newman unfolding

Various storylines are being linked to Sharon seeing visions of Cassie. A threshold was crossed when she acknowledged going off her prescribed medication. But she seemingly has not restarted her meds, or the effect of doing so is not in effect, as the vision of Cameron followed.

A connected story branch includes Lucy's desperate desire to form a friendship with Faith. The currency of that development and multiple dialogue references to Cassie's tragic infatuation with Daniel implies that the past is repeating itself or will be avoided through lessons learned.

However, fans wonder if the above will eventually produce a logical angle for Sharon and Nick to reunite and remarriage.

Will we see Rey Rosales again?

Jordi Vilasuso was a solid addition to the cast. His character, Rey Rosales, helped create a likable new family in Genoa City, Wisconsin. The Rosales' were the first fully formed family introduced on The Young and the Restless since Michael Baldwin's clan grew to include Kevin, Gloria, and others a few decades ago.

Collapsing the Rosales' down to Rey and then killing him off felt odd and unnecessary. Part of that subjectively interpreted misstep may have been addressed when Sharon said that she never had a chance to grieve Rey's loss properly.

The audience was never given the proper on-screen scenes, which would have afforded the Rosales a proper farewell. So, seeing if Rey appears in one of Sharon's potential future projections will be interesting. That wouldn't fix the mistakes of killing him off and erasing this family from Genoa City, but it would offer some form of closure.

Nick Newman and Phyllis Summers' connection is undeniable

Earlier this year Sharon said that she would not be surprised if Nick and Phyllis reunited. Of course, that's happened before, and two marriages resulted. Sharon and Nick were only married once. They divorced in 2007 after Nick buried his grief at Cassie's loss and first bonded with Phyllis.

Nick has been single since Sally returned to his brother, Adam. Sharon has been single since her budding romance with Chance went nowhere. It's unusual for a one-time, previously dubbed super couple to have never remarried. The two failed trips to the alter notwithstanding. Devoted fans can be rightly hesitant to emotionally invest in believing this storyline is leading to a reunion.

Sharon Case and Joshua Morrow's dual anniversary year may be cause to hope. They both joined the soap as recasts in 1994. So, what better way to celebrate than to have Sharon and Nick rediscover and reaffirm their love in daytime?
