[Spoiler] falls victim to the Il Giardino killer on Bold and the Beautiful
By Sabrina Reed
Tragedy has struck Il Giardino once again on The Bold and the Beautiful though this time many fans saw this one coming. We knew something was going to have to come to a head since Tom didn't die of an accidental overdose, he was murdered. Someone drugged him and, in the process of cleaning up their mess after the fact, another one of the restaurant's employees wound up being collateral damage.
I'm talking about Hollis, Il Giardino's bartender and Deacon's friend. He'd been rocked by Tom's death and noticeably struggling during his shift due to grief. Deacon had sent him to do some inventory in the supply closet and that's where Hollis happened upon Tom's bag. Though he was initially uncomfortable with going through his deceased co-worker's belongings, Hollis did so anyway and discovered a thick stack of letters.
This has yet to be confirmed but they're likely Tom's correspondence with Poppy over the years that she kept sending back to him. Finding these letters would have meant Luna was likely one step closer to learning of her mother's past with Tom and the real reason Poppy didn't want to track down her dad. Luna's Bill's daughter but there was a chance she could have been Tom's which was a possibility Poppy had been scared of for Luna's whole life.
But, unfortunately, Hollis didn't get the chance to disclose to her what he found. He tried to sort out his feelings about the letters and how they might have connected to Tom's death but Sheila wouldn't let him get a word in edge wise. In fact, she urged him to throw the bag away because it was dirty and probably a health code violation.
Later, when the power at Il Giardino went off yet again, Hollis was cleaning up the outdoor eating area. I know we all sat up in alarm when we noticed he was drinking from an open container. Though he wasn't long for this world, we did get one last scene with him. Someone arrived at Il Giardino after hours and he clearly knew them because he was ready to open up about what he'd found in the bag.
We didn't get to hear that conversation so that's another mysterious piece of this storyline but by the time the sun rose in the morning, Tom's bag was gone and Hollis was lying dead behind the bar. Enter Sheila who screamed her head off which brought Deacon running to her side. He tried calling 9-1-1 but Sheila checked and Hollis didn't have a pulse.
The preview for next week confirmed that the same substance that had been in Tom's system was found in Hollis' so this murder mystery is off to the race. I can't wait to see what happens next and if Sheila's going to tell Deacon about Tom's missing bag!
