Strictly Come Dancing has returned to TV screens across the UK. The series has been part of viewers' lives for two decades and, on its 20th anniversary, it's back with a brand new series. And that brand new series certainly opened things on an unexpectedly shocking note, as last week's second outing - which featured the first elimination of the series - saw Tom and Nadiya eliminated despite being in the middle of the Leaderboard the night before.

This week, we had the annual Movie Night Special, which had some stunning routines from movies such as George of the Jungle, Harry Potter, Rocketman, Lara Croft: Tomb Raider, and so much more. But who stood out this week, and who struggled to keep up with the numbers?

Here are the Strictly spoilers, results, and scores from the Week 3 Saturday night Movies Special.

Strictly spoilers and results: Week 3 Leaderboard

What a night of rave reviews that was!! Tasha and Aljaž found themselves at the top of the Leaderboard for the second week in a row with a beautiful Rumba based on Barbie. But they held onto their top score by just one mark, as Sarah and Vito's beautiful Harry Potter-inspired Viennese Waltz (which was a tribute to Dame Maggie Smith) gained acclaim from the judges too, along with Shayne and Nancy's Elvis inspired variation of the dame dance, and Punam and Gorka's outstanding Bollywood-inspired Couple's Choice.

There was also noticeable improvement in this year's crop of dancers, with Toyah, Paul, and Pete all receiving praise from the judges for providing entertaining routines that saw some improved technique too.

Here are the results from the Strictly Week 3 Saturday night show, the scores, and the Leaderboard we were left with:

  • Tasha and Aljaž - 34
  • Sarah and Vito - 33
  • Shayne and Nancy - 33
  • Punam and Gorka - 33
  • JB and Amy - 32
  • Jamie and Michelle - 30
  • Wynne and Katya - 30
  • Chris and Dianne - 30
  • Sam and Nikita - 30
  • Montell and Johannes - 28
  • Pete and Jowita - 26
  • Paul Merson and Karen Hauer - 19
  • Toyah and Neil - 15

Who is in danger on Strictly Come Dancing Week 3?

This is going to be a very interesting night for Strictly Come Dancing 2024, and let me tell you why. There are just six couples separating those at the top of the Leaderboard and those at the bottom when there should be 12 or 13. There are multiple reasons for that.

For starters, the fact that Nick and Luba didn't compete this week means there is one less couple in the competition than there should be at this point, which means one less point on the Leaderboard. But the real culprit for the potential chaos that is about to unfold is the multiple ties on the Leaderboard. We have a three-way tie in second place and a four-way tie in fourth place. As a result, multiple couples within those ties are in jeopardy (with the couples in the lower-scoring tie in the most jeopardy).

Toyah Wilcox and Neil Jones have a much better chance of avoiding another Dance-Off as they have 6 pointsinstead of 1, but given that they were there last week, they are likely to find themselves there again unfortunately. It's not impossible that they could escape and they have a real chance to, but don't be surprised if they are there again. And if they are, they will likely go home as the Samba is a very difficult dance (even though Toyah admittedly did a very good job with it).

Paul and Pete have proven to be very popular with the public and they did well tonight, so it wouldn't be surprising if they both escaped. And that leaves Montell and the couples in the four-way tie on 30 in the most trouble of ending up in the Dance-Off with Toyah and Neil right now.

Update, Sunday October 6: In a suprisingly obvious result given all of the Leaderboard ties, the Dance-Off was between Toyah and Neil and Paul and Karen. The judges unanimously saved Paul and Karen, eliminating Toyah and Neil.

The legendary Toyah Wilcox threw everything she had into her routines. Relive her Samba, inspired by The Little Mermaid now.
