SWAT to air special two part episode in March as Hondo grapples with Hicks potentially leaving
SWAT has been having an amazing season seven so far and they aren’t slowing down anytime soon. In March, we are even going to see two episodes on the same night, which is coming quickly! Plus, from the looks of it, we might be saying goodbye to another character.
In the third episode, Hondo mentioned where Luca and Street were, who we know are going to be in a limited amount of episodes with the actors being dropped to recurring status. Street was currently in Long Beach while Luca was in London. In previews for the upcoming episodes, it looks like we will be seeing Street again!
The fourth episode, “Spare Parts,” will be the one that will make mention of a possible character exit. According to the synopsis, “SWAT hunts down a Chilean arms dealer after he kidnaps a woman and her daughter from a party in L.A. with unexpected intentions. Crossing paths with his brother, Tan is forced to come clean to his family about his divorce from Bonnie, while Hondo discovers that Hicks has received a job offer that could lure him away from SWAT.”
Since we have a shorter amount of episodes as the show prepares for its final season, we’re glad that they will help to close Tan’s arc. We’re hoping he will be able to find happiness after what he went through with his wife. As for Hicks, would he leave SWAT? Would this make room for Hondo to move up if he wanted to?
The episode is set to air on Friday, March 8, at 8/7c on CBS.
As for the second episode to air afterward, this will be where we check up on Street. In the episode “End of the Road,” we’ll also see the effects of Nichelle’s run-in with her former colleague, Bruce. He was the one who forged her signature on a contract and almost cost her the job she loves.
According to the synopsis, “While training with Long Beach SWAT, Street discovers a biker club has stolen a cache of armor-piercing bullets and brings 20-Squad into the hunt for the gang before they can pull off a daring and deadly heist. As Hondo struggles with changes at work, Nichelle finds herself at odds with her former colleague, Bruce.”
Overall, it looks like SWAT is going full throttle in seeing the characters’ arcs come to completion. That doesn’t mean we’re ready to say goodbye, though. But we’re looking forward to every chance we have to see them!
The second episode of SWAT will air on Friday, March 8 at 9/8c. Catch up on previous episodes on Paramount+.
