Taylor Swift is nominated for a Golden Globe but will she be at the 2024 ceremony?
Taylor Swift's concert documentary, Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour, has been nominated for a Golden Globe for Cinematic and Box Office Achievement, a new category for this year. The film, which has grossed over $200 million in revenue, is alongside two other Box Office record breakers, Barbie and Oppenheimer, in the respective category.
Now, the big question is, will Taylor Swift attend the Golden Globes that'll take place on Jan. 7? In the years she has attended the event, Taylor has been nominated four times but never won the prestigious award. She was nominated in 2013, 2014, 2020, and 2023, with the latter being a nod to her original song, "Carolina," from the drama Where the Crawdads Sing.
With so many positive things going for Taylor, it'll be a great honor if she brings home the Globe in 2024. While many are betting that Barbie will win, who can truly blame them? Barbie, starring fellow Golden Globe nominee Margot Robbie, unveiled such groundbreaking influence for women on and off-camera, but Taylor, the voice of the Under Dog, deserves her spot in the sun, too.
Is Taylor Swift heading to the 2024 Golden Globes?
Taylor hasn't appeared at the ceremony since 2020. She skipped the Golden Globes in 2023 for Eras Tour rehearsals. This year, however, she is expected to attend, according to Page Six. Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce won't be with her; he has a game.
The Chiefs will be playing against the Los Angeles Chargers. The match-up is set to air on CBS before the Golden Globes at 4:25 p.m. ET and the awards are scheduled for an 8 p.m. start time. Playoff season is also on the horizon, so Kelce is reportedly going to be flying back with his team after the game rather than hanging out in LA for the Golden Globe after parties.
