The Big Brother season 26 cast list likely won't be revealed anytime soon

A new season of Big Brother is coming soon to CBS, but fans are going to need to brace themselves because we aren’t likely to meet the Big Brother season 26 cast anytime soon. 

While CBS has announced that the new season of Big Brother will be premiering on July 17, the wait for this season’s cast reveal is likely going to be just as long as the wait for the season itself. If CBS follows the timeline it’s followed in recent years, we’re likely not going to get the cast revealed for the new season of Big Brother until days before the season actually begins. 

Last year, season 25 kicked off on August 2 and the cast was announced on July 31, just days before the season premiered. Assuming CBS follows a similar plan this season, that means we’re not likely to meet the cast until the Monday before the season premiere which means we should officially meet the season 26 cast on Monday, July 15! 

Big Brother season 26 cast should be all new players 

When the season 26 cast is finally revealed, it’s expected that the cast will be comprised of new Houseguests. In the press release announcing the premiere date for the season, CBS teased that a group of all new Houseguests would be moving into the Big Brother House. 

This means we should be getting a group of new Houseguests, but that doesn’t mean CBS might not toss in a returning player – this is Big Brother after all and we’ve learned to expect the unexpected. It’s also possible that we could see a legend from another CBS who make their way into the house as last season did feature the late addition of Cirie to the season. She technically was new to the game of Big Brother, but not new to CBS viewers. 

What will be interesting is to see what this season’s cast brings us. We’ve been finally getting more diverse casts in recent years which has made the game far more interesting and exciting to watch. Not only have we gotten players from so many different backgrounds but we’ve also been getting players that are of all ages which has shaken the game up and also given older players a better chance of going far into the season as they weren’t the only contestants not in their 20s.

It's going to be interesting to see what this group's cast brings us, but we've been loving the recent casts -- All-Stars being an exception, I said what I said -- and love getting new Houseguests in the recent seasons!
