The Claim to Fame season 3 two-hour finale crowns a winner!
The Claim to Fame season 3 finale was not without its share of drama and even more twists as the contestants got even closer to figuring out everyone’s identities. In the first hour, one relative was sent packing as the other three made it to the finale. Then the second hour brought not only the previous contestants back, but it also had an injury-threatening end for one of the final three. Did they make it to the end?
In the first hour, Shane, Adam, Mackenzie, and Hud had one more challenge to get through to figure out more clues regarding the people in the house. While everyone was prepared to learn more about Adam to get him out of the house, he was slowly figuring things out for some people.
Mackenzie did a much better job at the game than the other three, allowing her to get Shane’s winner’s clue. The clue referred the relative playing an Italian kingpin, who worked with Martin Sheen. Hud was excited when he figured out it was Marlon Brando, but he wanted to hold onto Shane as a leg up.
The episode also saw Mackenzie and Hud seemingly working together and even getting closer. But, Mackenzie was picking up little hints that Hud accidentally let out, such as his relative actually being a man and having a drink named after him with the word ‘melon’ in it.
During the guess off, Mackenzie chose herself as the guesser and surprised Hud by choosing Shane. With her guess, he was revealed to be the grandson of The Godfather actor Marlon Brando.
We didn’t have to say goodbye to Shane for long, as we saw him in the second hour when the rest of the contestants returned to help Adam, Mackenzie, and Hud in the final challenge. Unfortunately for Adam, he didn’t make friends in the house so no one wanted to help him. Plus, he was also leaving Mackenzie annoyed as he dropped hints that he was figuring her identity out.
The final challenge had everyone performing previous challenges as they vied for keys to look for final clues about the person they chose to look for information on. Unfortunately as ,they were playing, Adam got hurt when he tried to go under a rope barrier and one of the poles hit him on the head.
Adam broke down, fearing he had to go home, but luckily he stopped bleeding long enough for the producers to allow him to continue. Even though Miguel hadn’t been as helpful beforehand, he did help Adam once he was injured so he wouldn’t have to rush back and forth.
In the end, even without help and a head injury, Adam won the challenge and would determine who would be the guesser in the final guess-off. After going to the doctor’s and getting staples in his head, he came back to join everyone for cocktail hour.
Eventually, with the help of her fellow ladies, Mackenzie figured out who Hud and Adam were related to. During the guess-off though, Adam made himself the guesser for both Mackenzie and Hud.
Mackenzie was correctly revealed to be the daughter of country music star Trace Adkins. After learning her identity, it was Hud’s turn and Adam correctly guessed he was related to John Mellencamp. Hud revealed he was his son and talked about their close relationship with one another.
This meant Adam, in a surprising upset, was the winner of season 3 of Claim to Fame. By the time he had already been in the spot of the guesser a couple of times, no one ever seemed to figure out who he was until Mackenzie got help from Bianca.
Adam may have appeared to be the antihero of the season, but it was clear he had a lot of support from his relative, who was indeed Michael Bolton. He is his nephew and now has his own claim to fame.
This was a really fun season to watch, not only because we had so many people on the show related to Hollywood legends, but it kept us guessing the whole time. Hopefully when we get a season 4, they will continue to keep everyone on their toes.
