The Cleaning Lady season 4 is happening just not in 2024

The Cleaning Lady has been a winner for FOX, so it's no wonder the crime drama has been renewed for a fourth season by the network.

Besides the intriguing premise of a trained surgeon turned cleaning lady being dragged into a life of crime after a fateful encounter with a member of a crime syndicate, the series sucked audiences in due to the chemistry between Thony and Arman. Its audience was just as enthralled with their growing bond as it was the story at the heart of the show which is centered on Thony's fight to save her son, Luca.

Due to the loss of Adan Canto in January 2024, the team behind the program not only had to work toward giving an appropriate send-off to their beloved cast member's character but also find its footing without the anchor he helped provide with the show's lead Élodie Yung. The writers were able to do this and the season became a tribute to Canto's legacy on The Cleaning Lady but now the program must be ushered into a new direction.

While this wasn't the reason given for why its fourth season has been delayed until the midseason, it likely is a factor. News of the crime drama's renewal came with word that co-showrunners Miranda Kwok and Jeannine Renshaw would not be continuing in those roles for the next installment of the series. Meaning, of course, that the hunt for a new showrunner has begun.

We can expect The Cleaning Lady to return in 2025, likely in January or February. FOX's 2024-2025 schedule has scripted live-action programming running on Mondays and Tuesdays with 911: Lone Star, Rescue: HI-Surf, Accused, and Murder in a Small Town claiming Fall premiere slots. If the schedule is similar for the midseason, Thony's misadventures will likely pick up again on one of those days, perhaps Monday since that's when the first two seasons launched.

The show's fourth season will be its first without the intent to include Canto's Arman in the storyline. As such we're in for quite of bit of change as the series grows into something different while still being action packed and driven by Thony's heart and continued spiral into dark and more dire situations.
