The Good Doctor season 7 won't air a new episode this week, here's when it'll return

Unlike Will Trent and The Rookie, The Good Doctor won't be airing a new episode on Tuesday, March 5. This is due to Super Tuesday coverage on ABC. Tonight, 16 U.S. states and territories are voting in primary elections and caucuses which means the networks with news branches will be breaking into their regular programming to bring viewers the latest on what's going on at the polls.

Unfortunately, we can't count on a new episode of the medical drama to premiere on March 12 either. This isn't because the show will be preempted. The Good Doctor will be on, but it'll be a rerun that airs. Specifically, the season 7 premiere, "Baby, Baby, Baby," which saw Sean returning to the hospital after his parental leave and working on a case involving two babies that needed the same heart.

ABC likely isn't airing a new episode so that Tuesday's line-up can get back in order. Will Trent and The Rookie will be rerunning their current season's premiere as well. The two shows will also skip airing a new episode on March 19, but The Good Doctor will debut its third episode of the season, "Critical Support."

In the episode, Shaun will continue to navigate Charlie's need for an answer which she seeks through asking question after question. Outside of case work, "Critical Support," will follow Morgan as she tries to figure out who she wants to name as a guardian for Eden in the event something happens to her. Watch the promo below:

The schedule for the week of March 25 hasn't been released yet, however, The Good Doctor will be back on the same episode release schedule as the rest of ABC's Tuesday line-up by then. As such, you can likely anticipate new episodes for all three shows come March 26. We'll keep you posted if that's not the case. Stay tuned to Hidden Remote!
