Beauty And The Beast (2017)

It's a story as old as time. In Disney's 2017 live-action remake of Beauty and the Beast, Belle (Emma Watson) lives in the isolated castle of the Beast (Dan Stevens), who was a handsome prince in his earlier years. The more time Belle spends with the Beast, the more she sees the real him under the rough exterior. With the help of the household objects, who were, too, affected by the spell, Belle falls for the Prince, reversing the spell, which transforms them back into the humans they once were.

But Beauty and the Beast is more than an 18th-century fairy tale; it's a story of acceptance, redemption, and discovering inner beauty. If you want more of this classic, be sure to check out the 1991 animated version.

Lady and the Tramp (2019)

Romance is just not for people. It can be for dogs, too, such as the 2019 remake or retelling of Lady and the Tramp. Set in a New England town in 1910, Lady (Tessa Thompson), a pampered and well-off cocker spaniel, has a romantic adventure with a scruffy stray named Tramp (Justin Theroux). He shows Lady the "outside" world, offering her another perspective on life.

Many of the 1955's Lady and the Tramp's original elements were removed or altered to fit today's updated societal values. For instance, the "Siamese Cat Song"'s lyrics removed its Asian stereotyping, and no puppies were born at the end. As a fun and essential fact, many animal performers in the movie were rescued and gained forever homes before filming was wrapped up.
