You may know Jenny Slate from her countless roles in both television and film, but the comedian is starting off the year showing the return to her roots in her second stand-up comedy special Jenny Slate: Seasoned Professional.

For those of you who don't know, Slate's first special, Jenny Slate: Stage Fright, was distributed by Netflix in 2019. In her latest special, Slate will be focusing her stand-up on her personal experiences such as being a new mom, (the comic recently married writer Ben Shattuck in 2021). According to A24, "The highly anticipated special proves that being brave for love is worth it—even when it comes to pushing out a baby, stalking your therapist, or trusting your partner to not destroy you."

While Slate is no stranger to the stage, she also has accomplished a lot through her apperances in multiple comedy television shows including Kroll Show, House of Lies, Bob's Burgers, and Parks and Recreation. She also is a prolific voice actress with leading roles in animated features including The Lorax, Zootopia, and The Secret Life of Pets franchise. Her achievements extend beyond performance as well as she also wrote, produced, and voiced the titular character in the Academy Award-nominated live-action/stop-motion animated film Marcel The Shell with Shoes On which was produced by A24. This special will mark Slate's second collaboration with the mini-major studio A24.
