Watch Criminal Minds: Evolution season 1 for free ahead of season 2's premiere!

Criminal Minds: Evolution season 2 is almost here! Come Thursday, June 6 will be dropped back into the twisting world of the BAU on Paramount+. The revival was a welcome return to the beloved franchise after it had concluded its run on CBS in 2020. It's no wonder the fanbase, along with newcomers, came running to the streamer to tune into the next leg of the story.
However, with another season about to drop, we know that there are prospective viewers interested in tuning into the first season to see what it offers before making a commitment to watch season 2. Some of you might not have a Paramount+ subscription but are still interested in giving the series a try. If that's the case for you, then you're in luck! You don't need to have the streaming service in order to binge watch the first season ahead of the sophomore run.
There are two options to watch Criminal Minds: Evolution season 1 for free online. The first is through Pluto TV. The free ad-supported platform has all 10 episodes available to stream. You don't need a log-in or a TV provider in order to watch the series. It's completely accessible via the link provided above. Your second option is Paramount+'s Youtube channel.
Likely for a limited time, the streamer has put together a playlist with the 10 episodes for your convenience. You'll also find more of the platform's content available to watch for free on their channel as well such as Evil season 3. So with more than one method available, outside of a Paramount+ subscription, now is definitely the time to watch the show's first season. But, before you dive in, here's what you need to know about its plot!
What is Criminal Minds: Evolution about?
It's not a spoiler to share that the revival is less about the mystery of who did the crime and more about how the BAU are going to catch him. The plot of the first season centers on an unsub who built up a network of serial killers during the pandemic. Now that the world has opened back up, the network has gone operational. Yes, that does mean there's someone training killers on how to commit their crimes better and more efficiently. Unsettling, I know.
As the team learns more about what's going on, expect to have some of the pieces to the puzzle before they do because you'll be getting to know the serial killer. You'll meet his family, be in his house, and ride along as he commits his nefarious deeds. It'll provide more than enough insight into how his mind works and why he murders.
Unlike the original series, the revival isn't rated TV-14, it's TV-MA. While Criminal Minds never shied away from grizzly crime scenes or disturbing storytelling, the upped age rating does mean they can push the envelope more and they do. Expect the revival to be bloodier, gorier, and coarser with language.
Criminal Minds: Evolution season 2 premieres June 6 on Paramount+.
