What happened to Bobby in 911 (Is Peter Krause leaving the series?)
There was a lot going on throughout the 911 season 7 finale. Everyone had their own personal storylines going on, but my biggest question was about Bobby Nash. Would we head into 911 season 8 without Peter Krause?
Caution: This post contains major spoilers from the 911 season 7 finale.
The finale picked up off the back of that terrible housefire at Athena and Bobby’s house in the previous episode. Bobby Nash had suffered from cardiac arrest and was in a coma. Of course, that meant his life was on the line throughout the episode.
The buildup to the episode certainly had us worried. Peter Krause took time to look back at his time on the series, which had us concerned that he was preparing us for a goodbye. Is that the way it turned out?
What happened to Bobby Nash in the 911 season 7 finale?
Bobby spent the entire episode in the coma in the hospital. The focus was on Athena getting answers about who set the fire in the first place. As Athena (and Amir!) got to the bottom of who started the fire—it was the cartel!—Athena got a call.
Bobby woke up from his coma.
If you were worried that it was one of those calms before the storm, you weren’t alone. The good news is that we quickly got the confirmation that Bobby would be okay. He will stay at the hospital for a few days for observations, but he will make it through.
This allowed the 911 season 7 finale to put the focus back on Eddie and Hen for the last 20 minutes of the episode. That and a focus on memories as Athena felt the pain of losing memories in the housefire.
Will Bobby retire from the 118?
All I’m going to say is that I’m glad we got the resolution before the end of the episode. Of course, now questions are whether the 118 will keep their captain. Bobby Nash had seemed ready to retire during the previous episode.
The end of the episode brought us some answers. Bobby headed back to the house, where he found his badge. Amir turned up, bringing an opportunity for him to not quite forgive Bobby for everything but explain his feelings. Amir served a purpose for Bobby to make a final decision. Amir made it clear that Bobby couldn’t quit his job, and Bobby realized that too.
Of course, the series had to end with a twist. Bobby quitting two weeks earlier led to HQ finding a replacement. Captain Gerrard is back, and that means some old-school firefighting coming. This isn't going to be good for the 118, especially as he made it clear Bobby had quit. This is going to make for an interesting start to 911 season 8.
