Dancing with the Stars season 33 cast intros, premiere date, and what to know

Updated: Sept. 13, 2024 - Dancing with the Stars season 33 is nearly upon as ABC gears up for its Fall TV launch. Once again we'll be tuning into some of our favorite household names while they strut their stuff in the hopes of winning the Len Goodman mirrorball trophy.

This year the dance competition will premiere on Tuesday, Sept. 17 at 8 p.m. ET on the network. If you'd prefer to stream the show, it'll simulcast on Disney+. Hulu subscribers, however, will have to wait until the day after a new episode broadcast. As usual, we can expect Dancing with the Stars to hold down a two hour block but if you plan on sticking around for the 10 o'clock hour, ABC does have a new procedural on deck in High Potential.

Dancing with the Stars season 33 cast

Alfonso Ribeiro and Julianne Hough will be returning as hosts. Bruno Tonioli, Derek Hough, and Carrie Ann Inaba are set to be back at the judges table as well. But, when it comes to the pro dancers, we will be in for one fresh face.

Ezra Sosa, who'd been a part of Dancing with the Stars' troupe since 2021, has stepped into a pro dancer role for the competition. Per GLAAD's press release, Sosa is the first Latin pro to be featured on the show in over a decade. In an interview with the non-profit organization, he said the following after the announcement:

"It hasn't hit me yet! When I got the call, I honestly was in a state of shock from the news...but I think the moment I do meet my [celebrity] partner and the moment I step in the ballroom, that's when I'll be like, "this is actually happening right now!"

Sosa has been partnered with Anna Delvey, a con artist notorious for the scam she ran from 2013-2017 in which she tricked New York's upper echelon into believing she was a wealthy heiress and swindled them out of their money. The Netflix original series Inventing Anna is about her scheme and later conviction.
