Wish and 5 other family movies available to stream right now

Pop open a bag of popcorn, it's family movie night. From Wish to Wonka, here are six great family movies to stream right now.

GLOW UP – In Walt Disney Animation Studios’ “Wish,” sharp-witted idealist Asha (voice of Ariana DeBose) makes a wish so powerful, it’s answered by a cosmic force—a little ball of boundless energy called Star. Artists lit the character in a way that makes it luminous—casting a glow onto the surrounding characters and environment. Parents, go grab popcorn, drinks, and other movie snack favorites! Wish is now available on streaming. Below, we also share the titles to five other great family movies you can stream from home. Settle in, it's family movie night!

At the box office, Disney's Wish gathered $254.5 million worldwide, Box Office Mojo reports. For being a Disney picture, this isn't the best score. It's no secret that Disney has been struggling at the box office, with a streak of low numbers. As Variety shares, some of Disney's recent box office fails, include The Marvels, Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny, The Haunted Mansion, and others. I watched Wish and it's an amazing movie. If you have not seen the underrated movie, don't miss it on streaming April 3.

Need more movies to keep the kiddos entertained? Not a problem! Also available, we have Megamind vs. the Doom, Wonka, Migration, and others! Here is a helpful list that details where to stream the movie from the comfort of your own home.

Family movies to stream right now

  • Wish, streaming on Disney+
  • Migration, available on Blu-ray/DVD and Digital
  • Wonka, streaming on Max
  • Megamind vs. the Doom Syndicate, streaming on Peacock
  • The Kung Fu Panda movies, streaming on Peacock
  • Inside Out, streaming on Disney+

From this list, Migration is one of my favorite movies. The animated feature is available for purchase on Blu-ray/DVD as well as on Digital, such as Fandango At Home, Prime Video, and other VOD services. Migration follows a sweet, but very fearful, family of mallards. Instead of migration each year, Mack Mallard (the father of the family, voiced by Kumail Nanjiani) believes it is best to simply stay in one place and when winter rolls around the family just toughs it out. That is, until Dax (Caspar Jennings), a preteen mallard, decides to convince his dad to go on an adventure. This family is in for the trip of a lifetime, and audiences are more than happy to join!

Migration may only be available to rent or purchase, but it will be streaming on Peacock in a couple of weeks on April 19. In the meantime, there are other movies to enjoy.

Our second favorite family movie from this list is Inside Out. I know this is not a new movie. But its sequel, Inside Out 2, will be in theaters this summer on June 14, 2024. That said, there's no better time than now to refresh your memory on what the movie is about and what happens in Inside Out before the new movie arrives. And if you have never seen the first movie, you're missing out!

The animated feature sees inside the mind of Riley (voiced by Kaitlyn Dias), a preteen girl dealing with complicated emotions after her family packs up and moves from the Midwest to San Francisco. The upcoming sequel also takes place inside Riley's mind as a set of new emotions make themselves at home, causing chaos.

Wonka is a movie everyone in the family can easily bond to. It follows Willy Wonka, the iconic character from the Charlie and the Chocolate Factory best-selling books. The story gives audiences the colorful story of how Wonka became the confident and powerful chocolate maker we know and love today. Taking on the role of Wonka is Timothee Chalamet. The movie also stars Hugh Grant, Calah Lane, Keegan-Michael Key, and Paterson Joseph, among others.

In theaters, Wonka accumulated over $632 million worldwide, Box Office Mojo reports. Chalamet received a Golden Globe nomination for his portrayal of Willy Wonka. The movie is rated PG for some violence, mild language, and thematic elements. Stream it on Max today.
