Sadly, there's no new episode of Elsbeth this week but it's for a good reason

CBS has been forced to sideline Elsbeth this week in order to bring fans of another hit CBS series a holiday special.

Sorry, Elsbeth fans, there will be no pre-Halloween hijinks to be had with our favorite lawyer turned consultant this Thursday night. CBS has pulled Elsbeth from the lineup with no new episode coming fans' way during the show’s usual 9 p.m. time slot on the Thursday night block! That's right, there is no episode of Elsbeth airing on October 29, and there won't even be an encore episode to enjoy in place of a new episode as the show is being pulled from the line up entirely by CBS.

So why the sudden change in the schedule for Elsbeth?

Tonight, CBS had to pull Elsbeth from the schedule to make room for its special one-hour Ghosts Halloween special, which will be airing in the 9 p.m. hour usually occupied by Elsbeth. While fans won’t be able to enjoy a new episode of Elsbeth this week, the good news is that this isn't the start of some multi-week break.

While Ghosts takes over CBS's 9 p.m. time slot on October 29 for the show's Halloween special, Elsbeth will be back on November 5 for a fresh new episode featuring an amazing guest star!

In "A Bad Lie," we will welcome guest star Nat Faxon as Perry Macintyre, a man who finds himself in Elsbeth's crosshairs after a country club president is killed in a fatal accident. Only Elsbeth and the insurance investigator aren't sold that it was an accident and begin looking into prize-winning hole-in-one winner Perry, who they suspect might be behind the murder.

The case won't be the only thing keeping Elsbeth busy in the episode, though. As Teddy's wedding planning continues, Elsbeth and Lydia finally get to meet Teddy's soon-to-be mother-in-law and father-in-law. It's going to be interesting to see how the meeting goes, but in true Elsbeth fashion, we imagine things might not go off without a hitch.

While the meeting might not go to plan, knowing Elsbeth, we're positive she'll find a way to make it work out in the end, as there is never a challenge she doesn't face head-on. We know how much she loves Teddy, and there is no way she'll let anything get better than him and his happiness. What will be interesting is to see, if there is a conflict, what the root of the issue ends up being and how Elsbeth resolves it.

We'll find out when season 4 resumes next week. In the meantime, fans can always turn to Paramount+ to enjoy past episodes, as all three seasons plus all current season 4 episodes of Elsbeth are streaming now!
