Tonight is all about Election Night. That means all the broadcast networks are airing coverage. It is an important night, but that doesn’t mean you need to keep watching the specials. You’ve voted, and you can get the results on your phone. You want to find something else to watch tonight.

The good news is that there are streaming services out there. They have you covered so you don’t need to check out the broadcast Election coverage.

We do recommend remaining on brand for the night, though. Here are five shows to check out.

Gunpowder

We’ll start with a three-part HBO series, which is actually connected to the date. Nov. 5 in the UK is Bonfire Night. This is the night that people celebrate the capture and execution of those involved in the Gunpowder Plot, specifically Guy Fawkes.

Gunpowder stars Kit Harington as Robert Catesby, a Catholic nobleman who has lost his wife and father. He’s angry at society, and he decides it’s time to kill King James I and put a Catholic monarch on the throne. They need to blow up the whole of Parliament at the same time.

Watch Gunpowder on Max.

The Boys season 4, Prime Video /

The Boys

How about something that also involves elections? Well, The Boys season 4 has just that, but you’ll need to start from the beginning to see the big build up. This series may be about superheroes and vigilantes, but there are a lot of current topics that come up throughout.

The Boys is loosely based on the graphic novels of the same name. We follow a group of vigilantes in a world where the superheroes are celebrities with all the power. The vigilantes want to take down the Supes one at a time, but that’s not going to be easy with an international corporation behind them.

Watch The Boys on Prime Video.

Silo

How about a series that involves a little bit of politics and a whole lot of conspiracy? Silo is the series to watch, especially if you loved the Wool trilogy by Hugh Howey.

The series starts with a silo that houses the last people on Earth. The world outside is toxic and deadly, and those who fail to follow the rules of the society are sent out to the death to “clean” the cameras. They clean because they see the world is beautiful outside, but what is the truth? Is the world back to the beautiful grass and trees, or is the view on the silo camera the real one? That’s something for everyone to figure out, while also figuring out who murdered the mayor.

Silo is available to stream on Apple TV+.

House of Cards

If you’re looking for something heavily political tonight to get in the mood for the results, you’ll want to turn to House of Cards. The series initially follows U.S. Rep. Francis Underwood of South Carolina. He is a man seeking revenge after President Garrett Walker decides not to live up to his promises to give Underwood the position of Secretary of State. Underwood is apparently too valuable in Congress.

While Underwood accepts his marching orders, he and his wife Claire decide to plot revenge. They will destroy Walker and his allies, with the final season focusing on Claire’s gains in power.

House of Cards is on Netflix.

South Park

Finally, it’s something for those in love with adult animation. South Park has a series of politically-themed episodes, and there’s a great marathon of them running on Comedy Central throughout the night!

If you don’t want the political episodes, you can watch any of the 20 seasons of the series. This is going to be one of those shows that helps you take your mind of some of the stresses that the night can bring. You can turn off everything on your phone to stop friends and family communicating about the night, and just enjoy all the brilliant ways Kenny is killed off.

South Park is available to stream on Max and Paramount+.
