The spirits in Ghosts do have a power ranking (and here it is)

Pete has ranked the powers of his fellow spirits in Ghosts, but he's wrong about where certain powers stand.
“The Bachelorette Party” – When Alberta’s descendant hosts a bachelorette party at Woodstone Mansion, Alberta becomes suspicious of her fiancé. Also, Jay is excited about a positive review on his restaurant, on the CBS Original series GHOSTS, Thursday, March 6 (8:31-9:01 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network, and streaming on Paramount+ (live and on demand for Paramount+ with SHOWTIME subscribers, or on demand for Paramount+ Essential subscribers the day after the episode airs)*. All of the Main 8 ghosts have now had their powers revealed in Ghosts season 4. Pete has ranked them all, but he’s off when it comes to how great some powers are.

Pete had decided that there are different tiers of powers based on how effective and important they are. He uses the way they can connect to the world of the living, and the way he can get off the property. However, he’s overlooking a few great elements of a couple of powers, and Pete’s ability to roam isn’t all that great when you consider other aspects of the spirits’ abilities.

I have my ranking of how great the abilities are. Do you agree with mine? These are in order from best to worst.

Pinkus Returns
“Pinkus Returns” – When Trevor’s former co-worker, Pinkus (Richie Keen), and his daughter, Abby (Gideon Adlon), show up at Woodstone Mansion, Trevor gets the surprise of his afterlife, on the CBS Original series GHOSTS, Thursday, April 17 (8:31-9:01 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network, and streaming on Paramount+ (live and on demand for Paramount+ with SHOWTIME subscribers, or on demand for Paramount+ Essential subscribers the day after the episode airs)*. Hetty’s ability to interact with people

In Ghosts season 4, episode 16, Hetty finally got her power. Thanks to her acceptance of her Irish heritage, she learned that on St. Paddy’s Day, the living are able to see her. Everyone can see her, which shocked Jay when Hetty walked into the kitchen on that day.

This certainly opens numerous abilities. While Hetty can’t leave the property, plenty of people can come to her. We know Sam is her descendant and the one who has the rightful inheritance to Woodstone Manor, but there may be other descendants out there. Wouldn’t it be great for Hetty to be able to interact with others who came after Sam?

While this power is only useful on one day of the year, it’s still a huge moment for Hetty. Jay isn’t left completely out of the conversation as Hetty can also share things with him, and she can learn a lot more from other members of the living, giving her a chance to move on in the way she would like.

The Work Retreat
“The Work Retreat” – Trevor, who has catfished his way into a remote financial analyst job, is in hot water when he’s summoned to a mandatory in-person work retreat. Also, Hetty and Sass start a rumor about Pete, on the CBS Original series GHOSTS, Thursday, Nov. 7 (8:31-9:01 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network, and streaming on Paramount+ (live and on demand for Paramount+ with SHOWTIME subscribers, or on demand for Paramount+ Essential subscribers the day after the episode airs)*. Trevor’s ability to touch objects

We’ve seen that Trevor can interact with the living, and he does it through touch. He can make cellphones and laptops work, and he was the reason Sam tripped over the vase and fell down the stairs in the first place. No other ghost can interact with humans all the time.

In fact, Trevor has even been able to work because he can use a laptop. He’s been able to help (and sometimes hinder) Sam and Jay, and he’s been able to step in during emergencies. The limitations to his powers aren’t that bad. It takes a lot of concentration, but that concentration is worth it.

His Girl Shiki
“His Girl Shiki” – Pete makes good on his promise to find someone for Sasappis by bringing in a wisecracking 1940s screenwriter who also has the ability to roam, on the CBS Original series GHOSTS, Thursday, April 3 (8:31-9:01 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network, and streaming on Paramount+ (live and on demand for Paramount+ with SHOWTIME subscribers, or on demand for Paramount+ Essential subscribers the day after the episode airs)*. Sass’s ability to enter dreams in Ghosts

Next up is Sass’s power. He’s able to jump into the dreams of the living, giving him the ability to literally interact with people via their dreams. The people can see him and they remember the dreams that they have, but they don’t necessarily realize they’re interacting with a ghost. Sass has told Jay who he is, which has allowed Jay to have some solo interaction with at least one ghost.

This power also offers Sass the chance to be other people. He can dress up in all sorts of costumes and explore the world through dreams. While it’s not quite getting off the property, there are far fewer limitations to his power compared to Pete’s.

Pete’s ability to roam off the property

Now it’s time for Pete’s ability in Ghosts. He learned that he is able to cross the ghost boundary, but there is the limitation that he can only stay gone for a certain amount of time. He’s found another roamer, called Joan, who shares that she’s able to stay away from her own ghost boundary for much longer because she’s built up a tolerance. This suggests that Pete will be able to do the same.

For Pete, the power is fun, but it has also had some benefits. He was able to meet the ghosts of Thor’s fellow Vikings to find out why they chose to leave him behind — helping Thor deal with his abandonment issues. Now if Pete would stop going on and on about his ability that would help to make his power cooler!

Thor’s ability to create electricity in Ghosts

In fifth place, we have Thor’s ability, which he has used to save himself and other people. He can create electricity, and everyone around him can see it, including the living. In fact, he can fry the electrical circuits, which can lead to major issues for any computer or phone in the vicinity.

In a recent episode, Thor was able to use his power to save himself and Sass. As Sass was stuck in the ghost box and at the risk of going “splat,” Thor decided to jump in with a Hail Mary. He used his power to fry the box and kick the two ghosts out. It shows that there is far more potential to this power.

St. Hetty's Day
“St. Hetty’s Day” – Hetty’s ghost power is revealed when Jay’s cousin Sunil visits Woodstone Mansion on St. Patrick’s Day, on the CBS Original series GHOSTS, Thursday, March 13 (8:31-9:01 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network, and streaming on Paramount+ (live and on demand for Paramount+ with SHOWTIME subscribers, or on demand for Paramount+ Essential subscribers the day after the episode airs)*. Alberta’s ability to hum to the living

If people have ever wondered if there are ghosts in Woodstone Manor, Alberta could easily prove they are. All she has to do is hum and the living is able to hear her. This is one of those interactions with the living that offers plenty of opportunity for growth.

The humming has been a fun power up to Ghosts season 4, when she was able to interact with her descendant. By humming, Alisha could get the hint of what Alberta thought she should do about her wedding, leading to a happy ending. It would be great to see more of this happen throughout the series.

It's the End of the World as We Know It and What Were We Talking About?
“It’s the End of the World as We Know It and What Were We Talking About?” – Flower interferes with the opening of Jay’s restaurant based on a prophecy from her old cult leader, on the CBS Original series GHOSTS, Thursday, Feb. 13 (8:31-9:01 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network, and streaming on Paramount+ (live and on demand for Paramount+ with SHOWTIME subscribers, or on demand for Paramount+ Essential subscribers the day after the episode airs)*. Flower’s ability to make people high

Next up is Flower’s ability. This is a lower tier power for sure, and that’s mostly because it doesn’t offer many benefits. However, it’s certainly more beneficial than Isaac’s ability. At least helping people get high can help them relax for a few moments. We’ve not seen her use it to help people, as most people cross through her accidentally, but it would be great to see her realize that she can stop someone panicking or having an anxiety attack.

The downside to the power is that it only lasts for a few seconds. The feeling of being high quickly wears off and people then go back to what they were doing beforehand. It can also lead to people feeling like something is medically wrong with them, especially if it happens too often because of accidentally walking through the hippy ghost.

Isaac’s ability to give off the smell of sewage

Due to the way Isaac died, now he is able to give off the small of flatulence and sewage when someone passes through him. This isn’t something he can control, and people walk through him far too often. Everyone can smell it, living or dead.

There’s very little need for this sort of power. It affects too many people without gain, which makes it the least important ability in ranking. However, there could be a benefit if Sam and Jay ever need to quickly clear a room. Nobody wants to hang around that smell.

Ghosts airs on Thursdays at 8:30/7:30c on CBS.
