It is almost time for Movies Week on Strictly Come Dancing! No, we haven't gotten our wires crossed; the legendary BBC series has changed a number of things this year, and that includes having Movies Week one week earlier this year. And that means that all of the couples get to experience a theme week before the first eliminations occur.

The competition kicked off in memorable fashion with last week's dances, with the likes of EastEnders' Lacey Turner and Vito Coppola, Delta Goodrem and Kai Widdrington, and John Nellis and Katya Jones all impressing the judges with their routines. The high standard has been set for Movies Week, and there isn't long to go until the second installment of Strictly 2026 is a go!

Strictly Week 2 start time (and how long the second live show is tonight)

Strictly Come Dancing Week 2 will air on BBC One tonight, Saturday October 3, at 6:15 pm BST. It will also be available to stream on BBC iPlayer live at the exact same time. Naturally, this is every bit as early as last week's episode full of opening performances was - which makes sense considering that all 15 couples will be dancing again.

The Movies Week Special will finish at 8:50 p.m. BST, meaning that it has a runtime of 2 hours and 35 mins. That's five minutes longer than last week's episode, and it's highly likely that it will be the longest episode of the whole series considering that this is the last one with all 15 couples set to dance.

Strictly Week 2 dances promise movie magic

Movies Week is always one of the most memorable of the entire Strictly Come Dancing experience and that will be no different this year. Yes, there are some major changes - particularly the Week 2 Movies Week theme instead of Week 3 - but it will still be epic to see our favourite couples taking to the dancefloor for some Hollywood-ready routines.

Movies Week has delivered some absolutely incredible performances over the years. Jay and Aliona's Pulp Fiction-inspired Jive comes to mind right out of the gate, along with Kellie and Kevin's Star Wars-themed Charleston, Rose and Giovanni's Titanic-themed Foxtrot, and John and Johannes' Pirates of the Carribean-themed Paso Doble. Will we see any more iconic performances added to that legendary line-up? It's possible because, again, we have some true cinematic crackers!

On that note, here are all of the performances you can expect from the couples:

  • Bethany & Nancy – Paso Doble to "No Good Deed" from Wicked: For Good
  • Cach & Maddie – Samba to "We Go Together" from Grease
  • Chris & Amy – Cha Cha to “I’m Always Here” from Baywatch
  • Dame Sarah & Julian – Charleston to "Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious" from Mary Poppins
  • Dani & Nikita – Foxtrot to "Beauty and the Beast" from the movie Beauty and the Beast
  • Delta & Kai – American Smooth to “I’ll Never Love Again” from A Star Is Born
  • Graeme & Lauren – Waltz – "The Godfather Waltz" from The Godfather
  • Jaime & Carlos – Cha Cha to "Pretty Woman" from Pretty Woman
  • John & Katya – Couple’s Choice to "An Irish Party in Third Class" from Titanic
  • Lacey & Vito – Quickstep to "I Knew It, I Knew You" from Toy Story 5
  • Lawrence & Jowita – Viennese Waltz to "Le Festin" from Ratatouille
  • Melanie & Aljaž – Waltz to ‘Edelweiss’ from The Sound of Music
  • Shaun & Alexis – Salsa to "You Should Be Dancing" from Saturday Night Fever
  • Tabby & Mark – American Smooth to "Rewrite The Stars" from The Greatest Showman
  • Will & Dianne – Foxtrot to "Old Time Rock & Roll" from Risky Business

Here's hoping each performance earns rave reviews across the board. As the first elimination looms, it's more imperative than ever that the couples impress the biggest critics of all: The voting public!
