We have a couple of finales airing tonight, Monday, April 28. At the same time, there are new shows arriving on the broadcast networks.

For CBS, it’s all about finale season. That started a couple of weeks ago, and it continues tonight with one show getting what is now its series finale and another just getting a season finale. There’s a bit of a clash in the last slot of the night, so it could be tricky to watch everything that you want to. Here are our suggestions before we get into the full list of shows airing tonight.

4 shows to watch and 1 to skip tonight, Monday, April 28

The best place to start is with CBS. We’re closing in on finales, with The Neighborhood’s season 7 finale airing next week. With that in mind, it’s worth checking out the new episode tonight. This is setting up the exit of two characters, who were going to be in the now-not-picked-up spin-off series.

After that, stick with CBS for Poppa’s House. The show hasn’t been renewed for a second season, so it’s time to see how this series had a chance to wrap up. The cancellation came without time to make sure there’s closure, and while it will be disappointing, the series deserves to go out with support from the fans.

Switch over to FOX for the next hour of the night. America’s Most Wanted continues. The first hour on FOX is a rerun, with the second hour being a new episode, with Lil Jon joining the fight to help figure out the clues to some of the biggest mysteries in the country.

Then switch back to CBS for the NCIS: Origins season 1 finale. Yes, it’s the season 1 finale, as the show was renewed for a second season back in February. This episode is a big one, as Hernandez’s body is found, and that leads to an investigation into his murder. Will one of the team turn on Gibbs to save themselves? My money is on Randy not being able to hold the line.

Make sure you put Yes Chef! on record so that you can watch it straight after NCIS: Origins. This new NBC series is similar to Hell’s Kitchen, but with Martha Stewart in charge instead. Twelve contestants will go up against each other to prove that they are the best of the chefs. If you love Hell’s Kitchen, then this is certainly a series worth testing out. Can they handle the heat of Martha’s kitchen?

When it comes to shows to skip, the one that’s the safest option is NCIS. It airs on Paramount+ the following day and it’s already been renewed. However, you’ll want to make sure there’s time to watch it next week!
