With two major NFL games airing throughout the day today, Sunday, Jan. 26, there is barely anything airing new tonight. However, broadcast TV isn’t a complete disappointment.
The football is certainly taking over, though. While FOX will air a game earlier in the day, CBS will have the evening game. It’s this game that means a lot of other networks are opting for movies and reruns. Of course, movies has been the standard for ABC and The CW on Sundays recently.
NFL AFC Championship Game, Watson, and more
It’s all about CBS. The night starts with the AFC Game. The Kansas City Chiefs will host the Buffalo Bills in the biggest game for the two teams of the season. This is a showdown that will see the Chiefs want to prove the Bills win earlier in the regular season was a one-off. After all, the Bills were the only team to beat the Chiefs in the regular season (with a regular team—we can’t count the loss against the Broncos).
After the game, CBS is taking advantage of the viewership. The series premiere of Watson will air. This is the new Morris Chestnut series, which sees him lead as Dr. John Watson. Yes, the character who was a sidekick to Sherlock Holmes. In this series, Holmes has died, and Watson has decided to move back into a career in medicine. However, he isn’t your usual doctor. He investigates rare cases, which means some detective work as well as medical work.
If you love reality TV, you’ll want to turn to NBC. There’s a rerun of Deal or No Deal Island to kick off the night. This is a rerun of the third episode, which aired earlier this week. The 12 finalists will need to fight for influence as someone is forced to make a split decision.
ABC is putting on a new episode of America’s Funniest Home Videos, but that’s not a huge risk against the football. It makes sense to capture the attention of people not wanting to watch the game. After that, viewers can watch The Proposal. Yes, this is the Sandra Bullock-Ryan Reynolds movie that sees Bullock have to fake a marriage to her assistant so that she can keep her Green Card.
