We all love our favorite TV stars but some of them make a premature exit without warning. We take a look at small screen actors who voluntarily called it quits at the height of their TV stardom.

Not every television show is a hit but if you’re an actor or actress who happens to be on one, you can be feeling sky high. In a profession where you don’t know what your next gig is, being the star or a major player on a popular series can be pretty good job security. But not everyone feels that way. Despite high ratings or status as a critical darling, an actor or actress just might not be satisfied with their current situation.

More from Hidden Remote

Every now and again we get the news that “so and so actor” is leaving our favorite show. But why? There are a myriad of reasons why actors leave their hit show. So we here at Hidden Remote will be examining a number of great actors and why they chose to leave.

There are many factors as to why actors call it quits. The most common reason is their star meter has risen. They’re off to bigger and better things like movie stardom! Well, sometimes that doesn’t work out. Other times they’re unhappy with their role on the show and they clash with producers/showrunners over the direction of their character. Or actors just feel burned out and decide to quit show business for the time being.

Nonetheless, we’re looking at our favorite performers who left too soon. We take a look at which actors we said goodbye to, how they made their exit, and how the series continued on without them. Note: we are excluding actors from this list who were fired from their job, those who ended the series on their terms, or those who tragically died during their series’ run.
