The Seth Rogen directed comedy, ‘Baywatch,’ gets the summer movie season started early! But should you attend the party?

Critics do not know how to have fun! Baywatch currently sits on Rotten Tomatoes with a low 18% rotten. Is the film flawed? Sure! But it’s meant to be. Production didn’t aim to deliver a smart beach comedy or intelligent crime-solving mystery that’ll have you putting on your detective hat. Baywatch is silly, dumb-funny, and predictable, because it wants to be.

The film follows Mitch (Dwayne Johnson), a California lifeguard for the elite Baywatch crew. Mitch and his fellow lifeguards (Zac Efron, Alexandra Daddario, Kelly Rohrbach, Jon Bass, and Ilfenesh Hadera) do more than keep an eye out for those struggling in the waters, though, they guard the beach as well. And they take their job very seriously. So when they suspect a drug-smuggling operation is happening on their beach, they take immediate action.

What ensues are questionable one-liners, plenty of eye-candy (mostly thanks to Zac Efron), and laughs.

How can you know for sure you’ll enjoy Baywatch? You really won’t until you watch it! But you can make up your mind about it with the following yays and nays the film features, which we put together for you in the following pages…
