At long last, we have an official This Is Us season 2 premiere date. The show will return September 26 on NBC.

So, we were wrong. It happens. NBC has announced the official This Is Us season 2 premiere date. The beloved show will kick off its second season — and 10 straight episodes — on Tuesday September 26 at 9 p.m. central time.

There’s a lot to look forward to with season 2. In addition to any number of lingering questions and general thirst to know absolutely everything we can about the Pearsons, the cast has confirmed that we will get a major clue — perhaps even the answer itself — to how Jack dies in the season 2 premiere. So: Circle September 26 or run the risk of spoilers.

Season 2 promises some answers and more questions. Regarding Jack’s death, This Is Us creator Dan Fogelman promised that, while certain elements of the story would be answered, we would absolutely be left with more questions. Tangentially, we’re also still super curious about what terms Jack and Rebecca were on when he died, how Rebecca and Miguel got together, (did Miguel murder Jack), and how Kevin and Randall have dealt with their father’s death.

In lighter, present day going-ons, we want to see (and hear!) more of Kate’s singing career and discover what comes next for Kevin and Sophie. Not to mention, Randall and Beth’s path toward adoption.

Turns out, the cast is curious about those things too!

After some shuffling, due in large part to the NFL schedule, NBC confirmed in May that the family drama will stay on Tuesdays (#TissueTuesday), after initial reports it may move to Thursday. As such, This Is Us will air at 9 p.m. after The Voice and before Law & Order True Crime: The Menendez Murders, which seems like an odd lineup, but honestly, we can’t say that we hate it.
