Blaming Jace for Gretel’s death

In the same episode, Maia was convinced that Jace had murdered Gretel, when in fact she had been killed by Valentine on the ship the same night that Jace and Clary jumped off into the water. Maia and another werewolf from the pack attack Jace to avenge Gretel’s death. Luke convinces Maia and the other werewolf to stand down, telling them that if Jace is found to be guilty, he will kill Jace himself, but Maia doesn’t listen to Luke’s orders and she goes after him.

Jace escapes down a narrow alley, but the amount of blood on his body draws the attention of mundanes on the street, and when Jace collapses from the pain, strangers call him an ambulance. Maia watches from the sidewalk, aware of where Jace is being taken. Sure enough, Maia shows up at the hospital and transforms into a werewolf, chasing him once again through the halls.

Later that day, Maia and other werewolves catch up to Jace as he is about to go to Magnus’ apartment to save Alec. Maia doesn’t believe that Jace is innocent and she threatens to attack him, saying that he needs to pay for what he did. Jace pleads with her to be able to go to Alec, but it’s not until Clary, Luke and Izzy arrive that Jace is able to walk away.
