After a riveting home invasion episode, Smurf struck back with a vengeance. However, she encountered many troubles along the way. The boys adopted a unique approach to Smurf’s problem as they again attempted to communicate that they call their own shots. Without waiting any longer, here is the official spoiler alert for Animal Kingdom Season 2, Episode 7 “Dig.”

Animal Kingdom immediately focused on the aftermath of the robbery in the previous episode. J (Finn Cole) recovered from his torture while Pope (Shawn Hatosy) and Smurf (Ellen Barkin) watched the robbery on the security tape. Pope left afterwards to gather Deran (Jake Weary) and Craig (Ben Robson) for a meeting at the house. Meanwhile, Baz (Scott Speedman) picked up Nikki (Molly Gordon) from the neighborhood where Javi (Alex Meraz) abandoned her.

Next, Surf explained the entire situation with Javi to her sons. They refused to start a war with Javi as well as risk complications with the law. The boys decided to remove the buried body with a gun that connected back to Smurf. They would perform a job that would involve removing it from beneath a house. Additionally, they demanded payment for their services since this entire situation arose from Smurf’s past.

Pope led the operation as he ordered Deran to retrieve the tools and truck for the job. J taught Nikki how to shoot a gun so that she could protect herself while Craig spied on the two in an intimate moment. Smurf and Pope pinpointed the location of the body and the gun that the boys would hit. Lastly, Baz negotiated with Javi to end the violence. Javi warned Pope about Smurf’s selfishness before he accepted an offer of two hundred thousand dollars.

While everyone prepared to conduct the job, Baz mentioned to Pope that a detective believes that Baz killed Cat. Therefore, Pope took the lead for this reason. He spoke with Smurf about Baz’s situation, but she insisted that there was no need to worry. J and Pope began the operation while Craig and Deran removed the resident from her house. Pope gave J some advice and even offered to stitch his leg. A paranoid Baz and Smurf headed to meet Javi to complete the exchange. The wrinkle is that the money is from the Church heist. Smurf had no more money left, so Baz needed to help her in this situation.

The boys successfully finished their mission. They experienced a little trouble finding a foot, but Pope eventually found it. Deran handled the neighborhood residents who started to raise suspicions. On the other hand, Baz and Smurf made the deal with Javi. However, Javi wanted Smurf to apologize, but she berated him instead. Before Javi killed Smurf, his own man shot him in the head. Smurf hired Javi’s man to kill Javi and dispose of the body for the money that was owed to Javi.

Astounded at this plan, Baz argued with Smurf about her course of action. She exclaimed that Javi was not family, just like Baz. However, Smurf assured Baz that this fact was not the case with him. The family gathered to destroy the remains. Baz realized that Smurf would do anything to anyone who was not family.
