Once Upon a Time season 7: Grading the OUAT reboot’s new characters

Having reached the halfway point in Once Upon a Time’s seventh season, we’re looking back at the opening half of the season to grade the reboot’s new characters!
This season, Once Upon a Time began a new chapter in its story as it left the quaint town of Storybrooke, Maine behind to begin anew in the city of Hyperion Heights.

In addition to a new setting, the show bid farewell to several of its beloved and iconic characters in order to pave the way for the introduction of new characters while also putting a few spins on the familiar faces making the jump from Storybrooke to Hyperion Heights.

During the first half of the season, the Once Upon a Time writers were tasked with introducing viewers to these fresh faces and, as is often the case, it was clear that certain characters proved to be better received than others for one reason or another.
As we await for the arrival of the second half of the season, now seemed like as good a time as any to look back at the first half of Once Upon a Time‘s retooled seventh season to grade the show’s newest characters beginning with one of the season’s many new villains and an underutilized gem.
