Supernatural Season 13 midseason ratings report: Supernatural on the rise

There’s no denying Supernatural Season 13 has been among the show’s strongest recent seasons which is likely a key factor in the show’s rising ratings.
In its thirteenth season, Supernatural has been firing on all four cylinders to deliver arguably its strongest season in years. Not only is the show’s quality on the rise, but so are the show’s ratings.
Season-to-date, Supernatural Season 13 is averaging 1.78 million total viewers and a 0.6 demo rating in the overnight numbers. Compared to Season 12, The CW’s longest-running series is up 6.6 percent in total viewers, while holding steady with the show’s 18-49 age demographic.
To put things into perspective, Supernatural currently ranks as the network’s second highest-rated program in the 18-49 age demographic placing behind only The Flash,who leads the pack with an average of 0.9 during the first half of its fourth season. Supernatural Season 13 also is narrowly outperforming the network’s breakout drama Riverdale which sits in the No. 3 spot with an average of 0.57.

On the viewership spectrum, Supernatural ranks No. 3 overall coming behind The Flash (2.4 million) and Supergirl (1.93 million) easily pushing past the network’s other superhero offerings and the aforementioned Riverdale.
Should Supernatural manage to hold onto its ranking as The CW’s second-highest rated series throughout the remainder of the season, it would be the first time since the 2013-14 season that Supernatural held the No. 2 slot. (For those curious as to the season’s No. 1 spot, the honor went to The Vampire Diaries.) It would also be the first time the show cracked the Top 3 in terms of total viewers since the 2014-15 season.
