The newest Shadowhunters season 3 trailer debuted last week, and it sets a very ominous tone for how Lilith will threaten the Shadow World as we know it. Highlighting Lilith’s evil origin as the mother of all demons, the season 3 preview revealed how she’s raising the stakes for some of our favorite characters. She’s determined to resurrect Sebastian/Jonathan, whom she considers to be her son, and she’ll stop at nothing to accomplish the goal.
At the same time, the trailer failed to show us many other character relationships and anticipated story lines. With several new characters missing from the trailer altogether, and many main characters only getting a few seconds of screen time, we have no doubt that more trailers will follow this one in the coming weeks.
The trailer moves quickly, cutting between action shots and character profiles before we have time to process what’s happening in each scene, and even if you’ve watched the trailer more than once, chances are that you haven’t caught every detail or nuance.
