More from ABC

Attention Gladiators! Grab your biggest glass of wine, popcorn and maybe a clear mat because things are going to get messy! So what can you expect from Scandal Season 7, Episode 10 “The People v. Olivia Pope”?

This is a big episode Scandal! And Olitz shippers are probably already breaking out that elusive ’94 Du Bellay (a wine that sadly does not exist but has been known to be best served while standing in the sun as opposed to oh, um, Vermont). But this isn’t just a big deal because it might be Olitz fans’ jam (see what did there?). Before you get too wasted on all the fun this episode is sure to be, it’s significant that we are now heading into episode 10 in the final season, which means after this one there are only roughly eight hours (give or take a few) left in the entire series! This is incredibly bittersweet and if that wasn’t enough there’s another reason this episode is worth the good wine!

It’s one thing to love Olivia but the woman behind her is equally amazing and in episode 10 Kerry Washington is joining her esteemed Scandal cast mates like Tony Goldwyn and Scott Foley in the director’s chair. This week’s episode will be her directorial debut  (also lookout for Darby Stanchfield will also be directing an episode this season) and it’s sure to be one to remember.

Coming off of the high of Quinn’s (Katie Lowes) survival last week, episode 10 gets back to the politics, sort of.

The official synopsis for “The People v. Olivia Pope” (S7E10) states:

"When Olivia agrees to join Fitz (Tony Goldwyn) in Vermont for what she thinks will be a relaxing getaway, she is shocked to find that her closest friends have orchestrated a relentless intervention. Back in Washington, Cyrus (Jeff Perry) finally reveals his suspicions to Mellie (Bellamy Young) about Olivia and Jake’s (Scott Foley) extracurricular activities."

Things are not looking good for Olivia right now with the potential reveal of B613. But more importantly, can he friends reach her where Papa Pope (Joe Morton) believes he has failed? Perhaps this is also leading up to the much talked about Scandal and How To Get Away With Murder crossover?
