An Inside Look at the Oscars: Winners and Losers
Oscars are here so let’s take a look at who may win that golden statue.
Watching the Oscars in a way always bring me back to my childhood. Like a Delorean in Back to the Future, I remember the days when I would push the square button on the television and wait while it warmed up. My family would gather around the square box sitting in their rightful seats, while my brother and I would lay with our elbows on the floor and our hands propping our chins.
The advantage for us is more comfortable access to turn the channel and pump up the volume on request from Mom or Dad. Remotes were invisible at that time, since there weren’t any at the Valverde household.

The Academy Awards brought us closer together. Over the past 35-years, we compete in a pick-a-winner game. It has been evolving since day one. Whether its one point per pick or categorize top to bottom assessing points to how close you are in choosing the right one, one of us always has made a way to keep it fresh and fun.
This year will be no different. In a risk to give away my picks to my family before it starts, I decided to look at the major categories and discuss my opinions about them.
