Faced with the dilemma of stopping a nuclear bomb with seconds to spare, Barry did what he does best, run. He ran so fast that he entered “Flashtime”. Inside this space, Barry moved around the city, trying to figure out a feasible solution to stopping the bomb. To do this, he brought some of his friends into Flashtime space with him. One of the first was Killer Frost.

Barry’s intent was to have Frost cool the ignition but her powers didn’t work in Flashtime. With their attempts proving futile, Killer Frost gave Barry some parting words before returning to regular time. In that goodbye, she tells Barry to keep Katie safe. What this means for Caitlyn and her other half is they’re starting to merge.

Despite the difficulty Caitlyn has had keeping Killer Frost in line, it seems as though both sides are starting to work together. We’ve seen that when Caitlyn calls on Killer Frost, she steps up and doesn’t go off rampaging about. There’s no longer a barrier keeping Caitlyn from using her metahuman abilities. Caitlyn hasn’t realized it yet but she and Killer Frost are sort of becoming one.

Next: How will Team Flash handle the new DeVoe?

On the one hand, Caitlyn and Frost are two different people. But on the other, Killer Frost is just a manifestation within Caitlyn’s own mind. It’s not like Caitlyn absorbed an entirely different person into her body, Frost is a part of who Caitlyn is. And now that they’re cooperating and actually working together, their personalities can begin to merge.

Once that happens, a seamless meld between Frost and Caitlyn will result in the split personality dissolving, leaving only Caitlyn Snow. However, there’s a chance that Caitlyn’s other half will assume control and take her for another wild ride. Let’s just hope Killer Frost kill keep up her good streak, or at least long enough for Caitlyn or Cisco to figure out a permanent solution to the Frost problem.

The Flash airs Tuesdays on The CW. Season 4, Episode 16 “Run, Iris, Run” airs on March 13, 2018.
