Grey’s Anatomy Season 14, Episode 16 is titled Caught Somewhere in Time, and we have everything you need to know about what that means.

More from ABC

Grey’s Anatomy has been a bit aimless this season but it would seem things have finally found their groove to an extent. While the relationships of the surgeons of Grey Sloan Memorial have always been an emotional rollercoaster it felt gratifying to finally see Alex (Justin Chamber) and Jo (Camilla Luddington) be able to get engaged. Rushed and emotionally charged as it was, it was a big step for two characters.

Similarly, while I waffled back and forth about Jackson (Jesse Williams) and Maggie (Kelly McCreary), I am surprisingly okay with their relationship. It was awkward to start and uncomfortable but there is definitely chemistry there. More importantly, Jackson is really intent on doing this right and Maggie is her classically awkward self. It’s nice to see them be so honest with their feelings. Especially Maggie who always seems so wound up – it’s good that something or. I guess in this case. someone is making her feel undone. Even better that she’s not against that feeling.

This week’s Grey’s Anatomy focuses on the blossoming Jackson and Maggie relationship or the potential for that. I mean, we do know how they can drag these things out so it could be a while before it’s something substantial. There’s also whatever is going on with April (Sarah Drew) to deal with – and even though she’s bonding with Amelia’s (Caterina Scorsone) asshole surgeon/teacher, Jackson will have to deal with April at some point. She is the mother of his child! (Let’s just hope they don’t do anything horrible to April and/or Arizona (Jessica Capshaw) for that matter!).

And if Jackson’s former mess of an ex and his current burgeoning relationship aren’t enough, he also has to focus on his super important mother/son contest submission/revolutionizing surgery. One thing is for sure, Mark Sloan (Eric Dane) is somewhere up in the figurative Seattle Grace: In Heaven (honestly the spin-off we deserve) incredibly proud right now!

The official synopsis for “Caught Somewhere in Time” (S14E16) states:

"Maggie and Jackson are enjoying spending time together, but he must turn his concentration toward the groundbreaking vaginoplasty surgery he has scheduled with Catherine (Debbie Allen) and Richard (James Pickens Jr.). Meanwhile, Meredith (Ellen Pompeo) and Jo hit a roadblock with their contest submission, so Jo helps Bailey (Chandra Wilson) with an incoming trauma patient who used to be an astronaut."

The family affair of a surgery isn’t even going to be most interesting part of the episode!
