It’s time for the captaincy drill test on Station 19 Season 1, Episode 6. It won’t be long for the station to get a new permanent captain.
Station 19 Season 1 has been primarily focused on the new captain at the station. It’s between Andy and Jack and now there’s a hint of that storyline coming to an end. It’s time for the captaincy drill test, which the two will take with 18 other candidates.
It’s hard to call who should get the position of captain at the moment. Maybe neither of them should be promoted, considering the way the dynamic will change at the station. Not just that, but they don’t seem to really deserve the position. Both have made some colossal mistakes as acting co-captains, including still sleeping with each other!

That means Travis is made Acting Captain for Episode 6, titled “Stronger Together.” How will he cope leading the station for the day? Is this going to be a case of wanting the position until he gets it? I remember when Herrmann got the chance to lead Truck 81 on Chicago Fire and soon after he decided that it wasn’t quite for him.

Meanwhile, it’s time for Vic to face her fear. She’s been struggling with fire from the beginning of Station 19 but only Ben knows about it so far. He wants to help, but she made it clear that she wasn’t interested in talking about it. A fear of fire means the end of a firefighter career. Is there a way for him to help her push back the fear and focus on the tasks at hand?
