Starz has a lot of original content, but the cable network also offers a variety of old and new shows and movies. Here’s everything coming to and leaving Starz in May 2018.

May 2018 will see the arrival of two new original shows come to Starz. It is also the month of some notable exits, just off the back of Ash vs Evil Dead Season 3 being confirmed as the last. You don’t want to miss a beat on the network, especially of the shows that are leaving the service.

By the way, Ash vs Evil Dead being canceled won’t affect its availability on the Starz app. It’s a Starz Original, so will remain for as long as the app is there.

The notable arrivals

Most notably coming to Starz in May 2018 has to be the two new original shows. Both airing Sundays, they will run for 30 minutes each.

The first is Sweetbitter, based on the novel of the same name. It tells the story of 22-year-old Tess, who moves to New York City in the hope of a new life. That’s certainly what she gets, but it’s not all good. When she gets a job in the city’s top restaurant, she’s pulled into a world of drink, drugs, and sex, as she learns to find herself.

Vida is the second new series, telling the story of Mexican-American sisters, Lyn and Emma, who return to their Eastside L.A. home due to the death of their mother. Both on separate journeys and with very different interests, they learn to find their way back to their sisterly bond, especially when they learn some startling truths about their mother.

As for movies, a notable non-original Starz movie coming to the service is Borat. The Sasha Baron Cohen comedy tells the story of an Kazakh TV star coming to the United States on a road trip of a lifetime.

The notable exits

As for leaving the service, fans of Alan Rickman will want to spend this weekend watching the classic Robin Hood from 1991. You’ll get a few weekends to watch it over and over again, as it leaves on May 11.

May 8 will see the exit of two movies from 2016: Dark Horse and Maggie’s Plan. The majority of the exits will take place on May 31, so this is your warning if there are any you want to catch.
