Alexis Carrington continues to scheme on Dynasty Season 1 but will it pay off?

This week on Dynasty, in 20th episode of the first season of the CW show, entitled “A Line From The Past,” Alexis Carrington (Nicollette Sheridan) continues to move around the Carringtons like pieces on an elegant chess board. Yet, despite all of her scheming and manipulation, a new alliance has been formed that could undermine all of the Carringtons and all of her hard work.

Fallon and Cristal team up to undermine Blake

Last week, Blake (Grant Show) blackmailed Cristal (Nathalie Kelley), who wanted to come clean about Carrington Atlantic’s involvement with some polluted groundwater near their energy plants.

This week on Dynasty, Fallon (Elizabeth Gilles) and Cristal conspire to get the recording that Blake was using to blackmail Cristal. While Cristal was “distracting” her husband by offering to share a cozy bath, she managed to get the second part of a code to a safe that allowed Fallon to get to the recorder.

Fallon finally gets what she wants

The next day, it is clear that the Fallon-Cristal alliance is precarious at best, as the secret information about Carrington Atlantic’s involvement with the polluted groundwater was leaked to the press. Blake is convinced that Cristal is behind this, and tells her so.

More from CW

Fallon, who had been at the hospital with Colhane (Robert Christopher Riley) when the special report on the Carrington groundwater cover-up is televised, promises Michael that she will get to the bottom of things.

Fallon visits her father’s office and gives her father some modern ways in which he can navigate the situation, and build positive PR. She suggests that the company go the route of clean energy, which Blake flatly rejects.

Fallon and Cristal remain suspicious of each other, but neither realize it is Alexis who leaked this sensitive Carrington intel to the press.

As the precarious allies arrive to the Carrington Atlantic board meeting, it is clear that this is actually a press conference. Standing at the front of the room, Blake discusses the revelations made by the media and announces that Cristal is stepping down as COO to “be with family,” and Fallon will be the new COO, her dream come true.

Now Fallon will be in charge of changing the Carrington Atlantic to clean energy, and Morell Corp will be part of Carrington Atlantic. Cristal is furious. After the meeting, while she is packing up her office, Fallon comes in and tells her she had no idea that her father was doing this. Fallon does point out that having someone inside of the office will only help their cause to help uncover the environmental problems that made Michael’s father become ill.

Cristal and Culhane plan their revenge on the Carringtons

Cristal goes to the hospital to talk to a distraught Michael. He reveals that his father’s health took a bad turn, and he has died. He wants to avenge his father’s death and both commiserate, as they blame the Carringtons for their woes.

Cristal then reveals that she is COO one more day, and she remembered that Fallon earlier pointed out that it was better to be on the inside. She tells Michael she is going to hire him, and he can then be on the inside. This is sure to test Fallon!

Another Carrington is revealed

Last week, Jeff Colby (Sam Adegoke) drunkenly staggered around an exclusive La Perla fashion show, and got into a fistfight with Liam (Adam Huber), Fallon’s temporary husband, hitting rock bottom. Yet, the show ends with a surprisingly tender Alexis earnestly trying to pull Jeff together.

This Dynasty episode is bookmarked with Alexis and Jeff. It begins with gorgeous plates of breakfast food that Alexis presents to Jeff as his favorite breakfast when growing up. A deflated Jeff reveals he has lost his family, as neither his father nor his sister will speak to him.

As the episode continues, Jeff is reunited with his sister Monica (Wakeema Hollis) who informs her brother that there is cause for celebration as their father is finally going to be a free man, as his ankle bracelet was getting removed. Jeff is invited to join in a celebration dinner. It appears that the Colbys will be reunited!

Throughout the Dynasty episode, there are short flashbacks of teenaged Fallon revealing to Blake and Alexis that she is going to prom, Blake forbidding the pairing, as he doesn’t want anyone to think that Jeff’s scholarship was favoritism because of an association between Fallon and Jeff. Then, a flashback of the night of the prom, where Blake lies to Jeff that Fallon has gone with someone else. A surprisingly kind Alexis is seen going to the Colby’s and explaining to Jeff that Blake lied and that he needs to stay away from Fallon.

As the episode ends, Alexis is back at Jeff’s. Colby is angry because he believes Blake is responsible for his father’s parole being extended an additional six months. Then, Jeff asks Alexis why she cares about what happens to him.
