Avengers: Infinity War has a huge impact on all of the characters in the film, but how does it impact Captain Marvel?

Avengers: Infinity War packs a lot of heroes and a lot of action into two and a half hours. However, we’ve yet to see Captain Marvel still. How does the film impact her and what can we expect from the character in Avengers 4?

We get a quick glimpse of the Captain Marvel symbol in the post-credits scene. While a lot of the post-credits scenes might allude to the next movies, that’s not always the case. I think here they’re alluding to Avengers 4 and not Captain Marvel. That’s mainly because of the fact that the solo film takes us back to the 90s, so we know the outcome of Infinity War won’t affect that. Although, there’s always the chance that it predicts something happening with Thanos in the future.

The synopsis available on IMDb states “Carol Danvers becomes one of the universe’s most powerful heroes when Earth is caught in the middle of a galactic war between two alien races.” This is still fairly vague, but it’s likely to still tie into the MCU in some way. Captain Marvel will give us our first introduction to the character, but it’s her role in Avengers 4 that I’m more interested in at the moment.

One big question I have surrounds why she wasn’t in Infinity War. Is there something more important than Thanos invading Earth and killing off half of the population that we don’t know about yet? It’s hard to imagine that there is, but she must have her reasons.

My guess as to how this impacts the character is that we’ll see her respond to the encrypted signal or message that Nick Fury sent her and she’ll come to help undo what Thanos did. We know that there’s no way Spider-Man and Black Panther don’t come back with there sequels in the work. I also think that Captain Marvel’s appearance in Avengers 4 might be more important than her solo film, too.

Next: Could we see Riri Williams as Ironheart in the MCU?

I’d be more worried if Infinity War didn’t impact Captain Marvel at all. She’s part of the cosmos universe that we see with Thanos and the Guardians. Carol Danvers only recently became Captain Marvel in the comics in 2012, so there isn’t too much history with her donning the title, but it’ll still be interesting. Overall, I’m looking forward to both Captain Marvel and Avengers 4 just to see Carol Danvers in action and what we’re left with in the aftermath of Thanos.
