Tonight starts the final four episodes of The Middle.

The Middle is ending after nine seasons of the Heck family’s comedic trials and tribulations. What do we know about the final four episodes of the beloved show?

Great Heckspectations

Frankie (Patricia Heaton) offers to pick a prom date for Brick (Atticus Shaffer), and of course, it is Cindy (Casey Burke), minus her safari hat. Brick has always been their most socially awkward child, and as their youngest, Frankie and Mike (Neil Flynn) have kept the reins tight. Now, they have to decide if they can trust Brick to move forward, without their safety net.

Speaking of Mike, he has a new remote and it is not exactly working the way he expected. Can he adjust to the changes?

Meanwhile, Lexi (Daniela Bobadilla) convinces Axl (Charlie McDermott) he needs to get Sue (Eden She) a belated 21st birthday gift. Is this a test?

The Royal Flush

It is that time for Frankie’s annual Mother’s Day disappointment. Over the years, The Middle mom has received some truly disappointing gifts starting with the infamous inflatable foot bath.

More from ABC

This year, Brick and Sue try to win a trivia contest because the grand prize is trip to London for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle royal wedding.

Seven seasons ago, Frankie had prepped for the royal wedding between Prince William and Kate Middleton. She purchased a big screen TV, commemorative plate, and scones in anticipation of the royal nuptials. In the end, Frankie got pink eye and missed watching the wedding where a commoner married a prince.

Is it possible that Frankie’s two most disappointing moments could be erased by a huge London royal wedding win and ultimately dethrone famed Orsonite Pam Staggs (Kirstie Alley) and her Wheel win?

Split Decision

Axl has been offered a dream job in Denver and he is ready to move up to his next place in life, with the Winnebago fully in his rearview mirror.

Frankie won’t have any of this and is doing what she can to keep him from leaving Orson. This promises to change the family dynamic, which may be the basis of Frankie and Mike’s own personal conflict. What will happen to their relationship once the kids are gone?

Speaking of leaving, Sean (Beau Wirick) is off to Ghana, but Sue hasn’t told him how she feels. Will Sean and Sue finally have the chance to express their feelings and give viewers a hint of their happily ever after?

Meanwhile, Brick is lawn chair crazy, hoarding a stash of outdoor chairs to replace his own well-used lawn chair that he used at the dinner table.

A Heck of a Ride

The combo of episodes 23 and 24 is rolled into one big hour-long farewell that promises to return the Hecks back into the claustrophobic confines of their car.

Where are they going? Has Brick really gotten over his fear of bridges? Will Frankie and Mike announce that they have finally upgraded from the death napkin to a real will? Has Frankie finally remembered to bring the blue bag?
