Are Grey’s Anatomy showrunners thinking of introducing a new love interest for Meredith?

In the aftermath of the Harper Avery scandal, everyone was trying to get on with the task at hand, saving lives. Well, not everyone, Jackson spent most of his day cutting checks for the poor people wronged by Harper Avery.

Meredith was preparing herself to present her mini-livers to the world but during a pre-presentation questionnaire, she noticed that Marie Cerone had flown in for the presentation. Understandably, Meredith decided to duck out of the hospital at that point and headed over to Joe’s for some much-needed coffee.

Her order of the terribly bad coffee caught the attention of another patron at the bar. Another surgeon who had flown in for Meredith’s presentation, but one who was trying to avoid all the crowds as well. The two hit it off rather well and he even helped Meredith come to terms with what was bothering her about the whole Marie Cerone issue.
Is this the new love interest for Meredith Grey?
What a lot of people are wondering now, is this the new love interest of Meredith Grey?
The two certainly hit it off rather well and he was clearly smitten with Meredith; “do you have any pets?” Seriously who asks that?, Despite being angry that she beat him to the punch when it came to groundbreaking surgery.
While there is nothing official regarding a possible relationship between the two, or at least nothing yet anyway, from looking at the episode synopsis, promos, and trailers. You couldn’t help but think back to the very beginning of Grey’s Anatomy about a girl meeting a guy at the bar.
In saying that, this could be nothing as well. It could have simply just been a character brought in to help Meredith come to a solution with Marie Cerone and to bring the matter to a close.
Whether fans would want to see a relationship blossom for Meredith is another matter as well. Fans didn’t exactly take to Riggs when he was introduced so anyone else contesting for Meredith’s hand could possibly expect the same treatment.
With the season finale so close as well any relationship possibly being considered for Meredith will most likely not be brought up until season 15. So much is still to happen, especially with the knowledge of April and Arizona leaving at the end of the season. Any romantic introduction would just feel rushed.
