Westworld: 5 questions after Virtu e Fortuna

Westworld’s third episode of season two finally gave us some answers. However, it also created more questions. Here are 5 major questions I have after Virtu e Fortuna.

On this week’s Westworld some burning questions were finally answered. We found out where the Bengal from “Journey Into Night” came from (and were introduced to a  whole new world). Also, we found out what happened to Felix! (I had missed him dearly.) However, there are a lot of questions Westworld still has to answer and “Virtu e Fortuna” just added to my question list.

Here are six questions I have after watching “Virtu e Fortuna”:

1.Who exactly is the woman from The Raj?

More from HBO

In the beginning of “Virtu e Fortuna”, we are introduced to a woman who escapes The Raj, the newest park introduced, after a host attack. I am wondering if she has more significance than just being a character used to introduce The Raj and the chaos going on it.

Some fans are theorizing she is somehow a younger version of Theresa. I don’t really understand that theory since Theresa is dead, but you never know with Westworld. Other fans are suggesting she is William’s daughter, Emily. Whoever she is, I feel like she will play a significant role this season.

2. What is Ghost Nation’s goal?

In this week’s episode Ghost Nation made a couple of appearances. First, they approached Maeve and her group and wanted Lee. They also found the woman from The Raj at the end of the episode.

It seems like their focus is on humans. Some fans think someone has re-programmed the hosts to protect humans. If this theory is correct, then who? Also, why don’t these hosts respond to overrides?

3. What the heck is Charlotte’s deal?

Charlotte Hale’s behavior has just seemed off all season. She is way too calm and collected for someone in her position with the current crises facing Delos. It could be that is just the way her personality is. However, I get the feeling she is hiding a lot of secrets, not just Delos’ secrets, but her own as well.

4. Where did Peter Abernathy go?

In the beginning of “Virtu e Fortuna” Charlotte tells Bernard they still don’t have Peter Abernathy. However, towards the end of the episode, Charlotte seems to have Peter in tow. So, where did Peter go in between those two time periods? Did he escape on his own?  Did Dolores rescue him?

5. What effect will Teddy’s betrayal have?

Near the end of “Virtu e Fortuna”, Dolores asks Teddy to shoot Major Craddock and his men. Teddy disobeys this order and lets the men go. Unbeknownst to him, Dolores witnesses this.

Will this cause a riff in Teddy and Dolores’ relationship? Will Teddy rebel more and more against Dolores? If this happens, will Dolores eventually kill him? I wouldn’t put this past Dolores since it seems nothing will get in the way of her goal.

Until next Sunday, I will be satiating my quench for answers by searching fan theories on Reddit and Twitter.

Westworld airs Sunday nights on HBO.
