After learning of DeVoe’s plan to wipe everyone’s minds, Team Flash set upon stopping him. To do that, they recruited Amunet (Katie Sackhoff) for her powers of metal manipulation. Although, it took some convincing.

With Season 4 of The Flash now winding down, the latest episodes have been leading up to Team Flash’s final confrontation with DeVoe. But to get there, they still have a few obstacles in their way. One of the most crucial is how they’re going to stop DeVoe’s satellites from erasing everyone’s minds. Luckily, Team Flash has found a way.

On the latest episode of The Flash, the team figured that they could stop DeVoe’s satellites with Amunet’s special metal shards. They’re not controlled by tech and can bring down practically anything. The bad news is that Amunet was nowhere to be found when Team Flash went looking.

When the team split to look for clues on their own, Cisco went back to solving Harry’s intelligence problem. Neither could think of anything so they decided to contact the Council of Wells. But, the Council refused to help.

The Council of Wells refuses to help one of their own.

Because the Council of Wells had some strict rule about members having a certain level of intelligence, the dumbed-down Harry was shut out. In response to this, Cisco contacted the other Harrison Wells of the Multiverse for a new convening of minds. Though, they weren’t what one would expect of Wells’.

Before the new Council of Wells convenes, Caitlyn comes across a possible lead on Amunet. Caitlyn tracks her down by searching for Amunet’s real name, Leslie Jocoy. When they get a hit, Team Flash goes to investigate.

Upon arriving, they discover that Amunet has set up an underground casino. They bust in and break up the scene, which Amunet doesn’t like. At this point, she really isn’t happy to see Team Flash but goes along with them when they explain the situation.

At Star Labs, the team gives Amunet all the details of their plan. They explain that Amunet’s shards can bring down a satellite and she agrees to help. However, a minor hiccup prevents them from accomplishing their goal again.

Amunet has the key to bringing DeVoe’s satellites down but there’s a catch

Amunet mentions to them that her store of shards was stolen. Team Flash then has to track down the shards, but not before Amunet and Caitlyn Snow have a private discussion.

Caitlyn pulls Amunet aside to ask for the genetic splicer used to draw Killer Frost out. Caitlyn thinks it’s the only thing that can bring them together but what she doesn’t know is that Amunet lied to her. It takes some time but Amunet comes clean, telling Caitlyn that the device didn’t work. The truth behind Caitlyn’s separation from Killer Frost was that she felt a placebo effect which allowed for them to split. This revelation gives Caitlyn the courage to look inside for an answer on how to draw Killer Frost out.

The team reconvenes shortly after and decide to investigate the site of Amunet’s stolen goods. There, Amunet, Barry, and Caitlyn discover that Norvok was behind the robbery. Amunet doesn’t like this one bit and she continues to work with Team Flash to find her stolen metal.

Norvok is the only thing standing in Team Flash’s way

After, Team Flash regroups at Star Labs again and discusses how to find Norvok and Amunet’s stolen goods. They come up with nothing until Amunet comes to a realization that helps her track him down. Once they have Norvok’s location, Team Flash investigates, only to find a deal for the metal going on. They confront Norvok over the trade and he retaliates with his meta-snake. Barry is rendered helpless by Norvok’s poison, leaving Amunet to stop him.

In the bout with Norvok, Amunet recovers her stolen metal and uses it to subdue him. She comes close to killing Norvok but Barry convinces her to spare him. In doing so, Amunet is somewhat redeemed.

Once the fight is over and Amunet has her metal back, she tells the rest of the team she’s leaving. Amunet is about to take off when Barry and the others remind her that her own life is at stake. This revelation forces Amunet’s hand and she helps, except not by much.

How will Amunet’s shard-bomb factor into the coming fight?

To assist Team Flash in bringing down DeVoe’s satellites, Amunet gives them a bomb. Technically, it’s a compressed metal-shard projectile but it works just like an explosive. With this one-off weapon, they have a chance at beating DeVoe but it’s a long shot nonetheless. Hopefully, they’ll figure out a way to use it because DeVoe is practically moments away from erasing everyone’s minds.

In the episode’s concluding segment, Harry found a way to be useful to the team even without his intelligence. He figured that DeVoe’s latest absence must have been driven by emotion, and because of that, Team Flash comes to the realization that Marlize has left DeVoe’s side. In turn, DeVoe has put his plans of world domination on hold while he gets Marlize back. Though the question now stands, who will get to Marlize first?

The Flash airs Tuesdays on The CW.
