The Dynasty season 1 finale entitled “Dead Scratch” was filled with some expected, as well as startling, revelations, all capped off with the type of catfight that made the original Dynasty. What happened in the highly anticipated finale?

The CW Dynasty began the season with the wedding between Blake (Grant Show) and Cristal (Nathalia Kelley) and is capping off the first season with the marriage between Blake’s son Steven (James MacKay) and Cristal’s nephew, Sammy Jo (Rafael de la Fuente).

As the Carringtons prepare for the festivities, chaos ensues, as the house of Carrington burns down.

Fallon thrown into the CEO fire

More from CW

Last week, Fallon Carrington (Elizabeth Gillies) held a secret board meeting, where she gave evidence that Blake had knowledge of the tainted Clark County Water. She had visited Claudia (Brianna Brown) and discovered that Matthew Blaisdel (Nick Wechsler) had secretly stashed documents.

This week, Blake is surprised to discover that there is a board meeting, but that is just the beginning as Fallon announces that she is now the new CEO, voted in by the Carrington Atlantic board.

The furious Blake tells her that she is not ready, and it’s soon clear that she is over her head when Jeff (Sam Adegoke) and Monica Colby (Wakeema Hollis) show up at Fallon’s new office, revealing that they are also Carringtons.

They tell her that as Carrington grandchildren, they have a right to their fair share of the Carrington estate, and not the “scraps” that Blake had thrown them over the years. They want the company sold so they can now enjoy the Carrington billions.

After they leave, the Carringtons are in a quandary until they realize that they have newly found brother Adam (Brent Antonello) who can vote for their side.

Fallon is also heartbroken because Michael (Robert Christopher Riley) has told her he will not work for her.

Blake shows his heart

The Dynasty finale begins with another fun 80s reference, as Cristal uses machinery to destroy Blake’s personal belongs, while the Devo song “Whip It” is playing in the background.

Blake confronts Cristal and tells her that he will never let her leave no matter what she destroys.

Later, Cristal holds a live press conference outside of their estate and announces that Blake will be visiting developing countries that he has financially helped now that he is no longer CEO and has more time.

Blake finds out and steps outside to join her, telling the participants of the press conference that his wife will be joining him in his travels, getting back at his wife.

Later, before the wedding, Anders (Alan Dale) and Blake discuss Cristal and love, and Blake reveals to he’s confident that he still loves her “100 percent.”

Alexis changes her plans

Alexis meets up with the Colbys and tells them that she has found a Russian investor who wants to buy CA. Now the siblings will have more money than they ever imagined.

It was then that Jeff revealed that Fallon is now CEO, and Alexis is shown to have a heart for her daughter. She later tells Adam/Hank that he has to vote to not sell for a few months. She wants to see her daughter shine.

Before Steven and Sammy Jo’s wedding, the Colbys force a grandchild vote to sell the company and Adam votes to sell along with the Colbys, claiming that he has spent his life living on Blake’s “scraps.”

A Classic Dynasty catfight

Fallon puts together what the Colbys said and what Adam said and jokes that they sound exactly like what Alexis would say. Then she realizes this is one of her mother’s schemes.

Cristal stops her and goes to find Alexis. She has a score to settle! She finds Alexis and Adam kissing and uncovers their scheme.

Soon, the two women start a catfight, tearing up pillows, screaming insults and failover furniture.

When it is all over, both pick themselves up and miraculously, their garments are untouched. Alexis locks Cristal in the loft and heads to the wedding.

Liam’s shocking revelation

Liam (Adam Huber), Fallon’s temporary husband shows up at the wedding, sitting behind Fallon. He is finally able to discuss what he was writing, and Liam reveals he comes from a family that is even wealthier than the Carringtons, with their own hands in the energy business.

Liam confesses that he loves Fallon and wants another chance with her.

Steven is shocked by a revelation

Right before the wedding, Mrs. Daniels (Kelly Rutherford) corners Steven and tells him that she is pregnant with his child. Steven is visibly shocked and remains that way through the rest of the episode.

The wedding is beautiful, and Sammy Jo tones down his apparel to make his love happy, but senses that Steven is keeping something from him.

Claudia’s reality is revealed

Claudia and Matthew have sneaked into the wedding. She has a gun with her and is searching for Cristal. She finds Cristal and after some shouting, she shoots Cristal, but Matthew jumps in front of Cristal.

Soon, Matthew vanishes, clearly a figment of Claudia’s imagination and Cristal is lying there shot in the stomach.

Claudia takes off with Adam, who is hot-wiring a car.

After the wedding, the Carringtons reunite and the truth is revealed. Fallon yells at her mother that if her mother had bothered to read Liam’s manuscript, she would have done all that she could to keep her with Liam, as he comes from a wealthy company that will now buy Carrington Atlantic.

Kirby has returned, although her face is not revealed. She sees her father and this promises some shenanigans for next season.

Then a white glove is shown setting fire to the barn area. Soon, there is smoke everywhere, and the Carringtons are trying to get out. Michael comes in and tries to save everyone. Alexis shrieks and indicates where she left Cristal.

At the end of the show, only Blake, Fallon and Sammy Jo have escaped the fire. There is no sign of Cristal, Alexis or Michael.
