The Flash recap, season 4 episode 22: Think Fast
By Paul Zuniga
Apparently, nothing can stand in Clifford DeVoe’s way, not even an A.R.G.U.S. Black Site. On the latest episode of The Flash, he took control of a facility, using it to launch his satellites. Luckily, Team Flash stepped in to stop him.
To gather the final piece of equipment needed for the Enlightenment, DeVoe stormed the gates of an A.R.G.U.S. facility on the latest episode of The Flash. He walked through, doing away with all the soldiers in an instant. There, he set upon enacting the last step in his plan.
After hearing of the facility’s takeover, Team Flash began thinking up solutions on how to retake the facility. It takes them some time but Cisco and Caitlyn come up with the idea to go into Flash-time with Barry. They figure out Barry’s speed can be transferred to each other for a small portion of time, so their plan to stop DeVoe includes Flash-time.
Caitlyn and Cisco train to be part-time speedsters in Flash-time
When they start training, nothing goes as planned. Barry attempts to teach Cisco how to move by himself but he has difficulty just walking. Shortly after, their Flash-time training gets interrupted by Cecile who’s suffering from yet another side effect of her pregnancy. The side effect in question causes her to envelop the personalities of the people whose minds she reads.

Caitlyn examines Cecile then explains to her and Joe that nothing can be done because the side effects are caused by the pregnancy. She gives Cecile a special inhaler to counteract the effects until the due date. The two then leave Star Labs to rest up before the birth.
In another corner of Star Labs, Iris and Harry were busy tracking down Marlize DeVoe. They both agreed on needing information from her but they wind up with conflicting opinions on how to approach Marlize. This led to a bit of a verbal squabble between them which ended with Iris leaving. The two reunite later in the episode, accidentally figuring out where Marlize is hiding out.
Back in the Speed Lab, Barry continued to train Caitlyn and Cisco for their upcoming mission. While they kept at it, the trio kept running into setbacks. All these setbacks led to Barry rethinking their plan. He then tries to talk Cisco and Caitlyn out of the plan but they’re not having it. Barry follows up his point by refusing to train them anymore.

Barry reveals why he doesn’t want to put anyone else in danger
When Cisco and Caitlyn go prying for information, Barry tells them that he doesn’t put their lives in danger. He still feels guilty for putting Ralph in the line of fire and doesn’t place them in the same position. Caitlyn and Cisco manage to talk Barry into the plan by reminding him of how they’ve succeeded thus far. Barry then agrees to go along with their plan.
Unfortunately, their conversation gets interrupted by an alert caused by Fallout’s radiation level spiking. Team Flash suits up and heads out on their mission to retake the A.R.G.U.S. facility shortly after.
At the site, Caitlyn, Cisco, and Barry learn that DeVoe has already started the launch by shrinking down Gorman’s chamber. They warp into Flash-time to enact their own plan, succeeding in saving the A.R.G.U.S. soldiers and bringing down one of DeVoe’s satellites. Barry, however, is confronted by DeVoe who isn’t the least bit worried about the destroyed satellite.
During said meeting, DeVoe goes into a long explanation of why Barry’s plan won’t succeed. He even gloats, quoting Nietzsche as an insult. DeVoe then tries to convince Barry that the Enlightenment will save humanity. Of course, it all sounds ludicrous.
Caitlyn discovers Killer Frost didn’t come from the Particle Accelerator
Once the fight at the A.R.G.U.S. facility is all cleaned up, Caitlyn and Cisco take some time to vibe into the repressed memory that’s keeping Killer Frost from emerging. Cisco warns Cailtyn but she feels ready to deal with the truth and they enter.
Inside of the memory, they discover that Killer Frost wasn’t born from the Particle Accelerator explosion. In reality, Frost has been inside of Caitlyn since she was a child. This revelation shocks Caitlyn but she’s undoubtedly curious as to how her powers developed otherwise.
Next: The Flash recap: Harry and the Harrisons
During the episode’s final segment, Team Flash regroups at Star Labs to celebrate their victory. Unfortunately, they’re interrupted by DeVoe who infiltrates the Time Vault and uses it to start the Enlightenment. It launches with a beam of purple light in the sky and the episode draws to a close.
