Jurassic World Fallen Kingdom: Clip depicts Rexy and a lion in a standoff

A newly released clip from Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom provided a glimpse of Rexy confronting a Lion in what appears to be a zoo. The context of the scene is unclear but it could potentially reveal a lot about the film’s end.

In the newest clip from Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, two of the animal kingdom’s fiercest predators are facing off. They’re separated by a small parting which can be circumvented. It may take them a moment but the two are bound to fight. When they do, an epic showdown will take place. However, we might not see this take place in Fallen Kingdom.

While we don’t know how either of these predators could get close to one another, the background shows a broken down fence under Rexy. She obviously broke through an enclosure, meaning she’s on the mainland and loose. This could be close to Rexy’s own enclosure or somewhere she stumbled upon.

Whatever is happening here, it appears as if Ian Malcolm’s foreboding statement is more literal than we thought. To be clear, Malcolm (Jeff Goldblum) can be heard saying “Welcome to Jurassic World” in the trailers. He’s speaking at a committee hearing of some sort so we don’t know the context around his comments. But, in the scenario of Rexy and the other dinosaurs breaking out on the mainland, he could be giving them the ole “I told you so”.

Was Ian Malcolm right about life finding a way?

Malcolm warned everyone of life finding a way to break away from its confines in dangerous ways. Now it looks like his predictions have come to pass. Rexy bursting through a zoo is one piece of evidence but that’s not the only thing.

The trailers for Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom have also included a montage of shots showing off the Indoraptor. In one scene, the Indoraptor is put on display for a group show. It’s in some kind of presentation but we know the newest Hybrid breaks free of the cage. It can be seen stalking a young girl in several other shots, adding more evidence to the claims of dinosaurs rampaging about.

In any case, a plot that sees the dinosaurs invade society seems like the logical place to go next. The island will be destroyed by the end of Fallen Kingdom and taking the dinosaurs to another island isn’t a viable option. Therefore, a mainland adventure should be expected in the follow-up to Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom.
