Faysal Shafaat is one of the newest Big Brother houseguests, and he is so much more than a substitute teacher. He is also a former college football player.

Big Brother 20 has a wide range of houseguests, and one of those people is Faysal Shafaat, a former All-American college football player turned substitute teacher. While Shafaat’s CBS questionnaire does not reveal his former athletic abilities, his college certainly did.

On the website for the Chattanooga Mocs, an article has been posted sharing not only how Big Brother works, but also just how good of a football player Shafaat was during his time on the team. According to the athletics page for the university, it seems that the new Big Brother contestant was a starter for his college team all four years that he attended the school.

With an impressive college football resume that includes being No. 4 on the school’s all-time receiving touchdown list, it sounds like Faysal Shafaat has a leg up on the competition when it comes to the physical aspect of the game.

Faysal Shafaat goes from college football to CBS

While he may no longer play football, Shafaat is now a substitute teacher in Orlando, Florida, according to CBS. With his skills as a teacher at his disposal, the new Big Brother houseguest has plenty to work with. That could help make the game work for him this season.

With his teaching skills, as well as his athletic abilities and his apparent appreciation for working out, this means that he might just be a triple threat on the CBS reality series.

Faysal Shafaat pointed out that one of his strategies going into the house is to build a relationship with loyal people as part of his social game. While he does not seem to be looking for a large alliance of houseguests, he does plan to work on his social presence. This is definitely important, as the social game is just as important as the physical aspects of the game.

Shafaat said that his own Big Brother inspiration is Victor Arroyo. The Big Brother 18 contestant was able to play a solid social and physical game. Even when he was eliminated from the game multiple times, he was still able to fight his way back each time. While Arroyo may not have been able to pull out a victory, his gameplay was certainly worth looking up to.

Faysal looks to win Big Brother 20 with finesse

For Faysal Shafaat, it is going to be all about combining his physical strength with a solid mental game. If he can cultivate solid relationships with even one loyal person (like Victor did in his season), then he may have a chance at winning Big Brother 20.

As with any season of Big Brother, it is all about how you play the game. If Shafaat is able to truly bring together his social game with his physical game, while also calling on his skills as a teacher, then he might be able to stick around the Big Brother house until the very end.
