So far, they have picked up 10 episodes of this show and it will be airing in the fall. It will take over the time slot on Tuesdays that Roseanne was airing in. The cast Sara Gilbert (as Darlene), John Goodman (Dan), Laurie Metcalf (Jackie), Lecy Goranson (Becky) and Michael Fishman (DJ) are all set to return. They even have the same executive producer with Executive producer Tom Werner and showrunner Bruce Helford both coming back as well. It looks like these people were not without a job near as long as they thought they would be.
ABC issued a statement where they made it clear that Roseanne Barr has nothing to do with the show. They won’t be taking any money or ideas from her for this one. They haven’t shared yet how they plan to address the fact that Roseanne isn’t there. They could decide to kill off the character, but nobody seems to know. It will be interesting to see how they decide to play it out.
The cast is even really excited about the return and issued a statement together. Here is what they had to say about the new show.
"“We have received a tremendous amount of support from fans of our show, and it’s clear that these characters not only have a place in our hearts, but in the hearts and homes of our audience. We all came back last season because we wanted to tell stories about the challenges facing a working-class family today. We are so happy to have the opportunity to return with the cast and crew to continue to share those stories through love and laughter.”"
