Marvel’s Cloak & Dagger has Tandy and Ty wanting to go in different directions, but they’re still pulled together. Check out our recap.

Tandy’s increasing obsession with Roxxon apparent right from the start of this week’s Cloak & Dagger. While she’s diving into the files Greg had, Ty is visiting Detective O’Reilly at the police station to discuss Connors. Tandy then stops by Ty’s school to borrow a computer and printer to grab some more information on Roxxon. Since she seems to have abandoned going to school quite some time ago, this gives Tandy a way to spend her time.

Through a video call, we find out that Roxxon is Adina’s biggest client. Ty finds himself looking at an old photo of Billy and his friends and winds up at the company Duane Porter owns. He then gets ready for his championship game while Tandy is getting herself into a gala.

You can tell that Ty wants some sense of normalcy, which he hasn’t since finding out about his power. On the other hand, Tandy wants to use her power. Despite their difference of opinions on the matter, they’re still going to be tied to one another.

Detective O’Reilly pays Liam a visit to find out more about the New Orleans drug scene. At Ty’s basketball game, he sees the fears of the referee and the basketball finds its way to the gala that Tandy is out. It’s a weird moment to say the least since Ty wasn’t also transported like he usually is. However, during halftime he ends up at the gala as Tandy is using her power to see people’s hopes.

Ty blames Tandy for his powers going haywire throughout the night because she’s been using her powers. With the two being tied together, it makes sense that it would affect the other when one uses their powers. In order to get him back to the game, Tandy pushes him over the railing and into a fountain. This episode also gives us more of a look at Ally Maki’s Mina Hess at the Roxxon party that Tandy is at. Tandy recognized Peter Scarborough as the one who took all of her dad’s things after he died and starts digging into him more.

When Ty is back in the game, he’s set to take the final shot and ends up using his power to see what the opposing team’s players are afraid of. With a second left, he hoists up a shot that he knows is going to miss so that the other team wins. The referee was rigging the game in favor of Ty’s school, but he didn’t want to win like that. Evita sneaks into Ty’s soon after the game and tells him that she knows what he did by letting the other team win.

In her stolen school girl outfit, Tandy visits Peter and takes a little trip inside his mind. He’s fishing money out of a lake full of dead bodies. One isn’t quite dead so he drowns the guy and when Tandy picks up the hat, it says Ivan Hess.

Detective O’Reilly does some of the coke that she took off of a club deal in order to lure Connors in. Ty finds himself back at Duane’s place and he’s arguing with Connors. Turns out he’s involved in selling drugs and knows that Connors is the one who shot Billy.

While digging deeper into Roxxon, Tandy comes across Mina and recognizes her as the woman she saw at the party. It looks like she’s be playing a bigger role in the show going forward, especially if Tandy continues looking into Roxxon and there’s no reason to think she wouldn’t at this point.

My only concern with the show five episodes in is that we don’t see Ty and Tandy trying to figure out their powers together as much as I would like. We saw it in “Call/Response,” but in the episode we only figure out that Tandy using her powers can draw Ty to her. It’s something, but I hope we get a little more next episode.
