Big Brother 20 just evicted its first houseguest, with Steve Arienta going home on July 5. Now, Kaitlyn Herman is the new HOH and she has plans of her own for how the next week will go inside the game.

This Big Brother 20 recap reveals spoilers from the July 8 episode. With Kaitlyn Herman now in charge of the house, it was time to reveal who she had nominated for eviction. The BB20 cast also had to deal the App Store opening up again.  Would that dictate the direction Kaitlyn would be going this week as the new Head of Household? This Episode 6 recap comes from a live CBS presentation on Sunday, July 8, at 8 p.m. PT/ET.

Opening up the episode was the normal montage to bring viewers up to speed on what happened. Kaitlyn Herman had switched her vote, turning on her alliance to vote against Steve at the Eviction Ceremony. Sam Bledsoe was able to avoid getting evicted, and the house may have been split right down the middle. In the closing moments of the July 5 episode, Kaitlyn won the HOH Competition, taking the power from Tyler Crispen and enjoying every moment of it.

Tyler escapes – Kaitlyn takes center stage

Episode 6 really got started with the moments following the Steve eviction. The Level Six alliance was pretty excited with what had taken place at the Eviction Ceremony. Tyler also spoke in a Diary Room session about how he had escaped the drama after Kaitlyn made her bold move. Tyler would later begin working on Kaitlyn to continue working with him and his alliance.

Meanwhile, on the other side of the house, the alliance was starting to fall apart. First, they were scrambling to figure out who flipped. Then, Swaggy C and Bayleigh Dayton began arguing about his overreactions to Winston Hines. Faysal Shafaat started showing how worried he was about what had just happened, as he feared Kaitlyn would come after him for the time he had spent with Haleigh Broucher in the BB20 house.

More from Hidden Remote

Kaitlyn was working very hard to play both sides of the house. She met with her old alliance members in the HOH room, discussing how she wanted to flush out the secret power in the house. She also alluded to not targeting any of them in the upcoming eviction. Though each of her comments had some sound effects applied to them by the Big Brother producers. There was also some dramatic music as the scene left what was taking place in the HOH room.

After that, Tyler began working hard on Kaitlyn to target Swaggy C for eviction. She had been worried about the power. This was when Tyler told her that Sam was holding the power, immediately leading Kaitlyn to consider nominating Sam. Tyler talked her down by stating that Sam could use it to save Kaitlyn later on down the road. In the end, Kaitlyn was on board with a plan to get Swaggy C evicted.

Kaitlyn approaches Week 2 nominees

Kaitlyn approached Winston Hines, telling him he needed to be a pawn this week, but that her plan was to backdoor Swaggy C. Then, Kaitlyn approached Scottie Salton, stating that he was a pawn and that the plan was to evict Winston. In a Diary Room session, though, Kaitlyn cleared it up by stating that she was going after only Swaggy C this week. She called it karma for Swaggy C, playing the card that she repeatedly does before she lies to someone else in the game.

BB App Store is open

Continuing with the Big Brother 20 recap from July 8, the production team opened up the BB App Store. The houseguests took turns going in to find out if they were the most- or least-trending houseguest for the previous week. Once someone wins a power or a punishment, they cannot win a second one for the summer. This meant that Faysal and Samantha weren’t going to get one this week.

Rachel Swindler was the least-trending and chose the Yell! punishment. This would unleash an angry reviewer on the BB20 house over a 24-hour span to negatively talk about Rachel’s game this season.

Tyler Crispen was the most-trending houseguest. He chose the Cloud app, which gives him the ability to keep from being nominated. He can use the reward at any future Nomination Ceremony or Veto Ceremony if he fears getting placed on the block. Tyler has eight weeks to use this new power.

Week 2 Nomination Ceremony

Wrapping up the Big Brother 20 recap and July 8 spoilers was a segment on the Week 2 Nomination Ceremony. Katilyn Herman nominated Winston Hines and Scottie Salton for eviction, setting in motion her plan.
