Bob’s Burgers at SDCC 2018: What we learned from their panel
Not at San Diego Comic-Con to see the Bob’s Burgers cast and crew? No worries, here’s everything we learned about the show during their panel.
It’s one of the best times of year to be a fan. San Diego Comic-Con is here and a lot of our favorite TV shows/ movies are there. Sadly, not all of us are there (me included) but that’s no excuse. Thankfully, a lot of fellow fans and sometimes, official Twitters post updates.
That’s usually the case for Bob’s Burgers but they only tweeted a few things. Some fans at the panel were tweeting thankfully. With season 9 on the horizon, it’s time to look at what they shared at Comic-Con. Sadly, there isn’t much to go off of but some details are definitely worth nothing.
Despite the lack of tweets, both the official Twitter featured some highlights and an entertainment writer also tweeted some tidbits. There isn’t much to talk about with season 9 but plenty of details about the movie and the show as a whole.

Easily the most popular thing mentioned was the lack of ladies on the show. Most notably in the show’s main cast since Kristen Schaal is the only one. Creator Loren Bouchard tackled the question, saying: “I don’t know what to do except to strive to do better… we have to have balance.” For now, it’s a step in the right direction but the real test will come when we see results.
Even though no details were tweeted out about season 9, a writer for Entertainment Weekly did spill some. She spoke about the 5 clips shown including one from the show’s season 9 premiere, a Tina-centric episode. Additionally, there were also clips from their Halloween and Thanksgiving episodes.
Last but not least, they talked a little about the movie. Bouchard officially announced its 2020 release but still no official release date. Currently, there are no solid plot details but Bouchard mentioned Kuchi Kopi and Louise will meet again. Even those small details should be enough to hold fans over until the season premieres.
Hopefully, we’ll find out more details on everything later. Until then, even a few details are better than none. Personally, I’m excited to see more women becoming a part of the Bob’s Burgers team/voice cast. Fox also posted a Comic-Con reel with clips from season 8.
Which announcement are you most excited about? What do you think they should include in the Bob’s Burgers movie? Be sure to let me know in the comments below!
