American Horror Story Season 8 might see the return of Tate Langdon’s Antichrist son

The angelic murderous son of Tate Langdon might finally make a reappearance in the eighth season of American Horror Story.

At the very end of American Horror story: Murder House, we got a brief glimpse of Michael Langdon, the son of Tate Langdon. Murder House revolved around the birth of the ominous child prophesied to be the Antichrist. The child’s father, Tate Langdon, played by Evan Peters, is a homicidal psychopathic ghost that rapes a living woman, Vivan Harmon, while wearing a latex fetish suit.

The baby, conceived under specific hideous circumstances, is born the Antichrist and is meant to cause great evil. The last time we saw him he was just three-years-old and had just murdered his nanny. Michael wasn’t the only child born in the event, he has a twin brother, Jeffery, who is also his half-brother. Michael is the son of Tate but Jeffery is the son of Viven’s husband. Jeffery dies as an infant and remains a ghost, forever an innocent, while his brother is forever an entity of evil.

Murder House started the hit series and after creator Ryan Murphy confirmed that every season is connected and exists within the same world, fans have wondered if and when the Murder House and the Langdons will return. Murphy has been teasing a crossover for years, and it looks like it’s finally happening between Murder House and Coven. Not only will it be the first plot involving a genuine crossover, but the season 8 title has everything we’ve been hoping for…American Horror Story: Apocalypse

There is a popular theory that American Horror Story is based on the nine realms of HellMurder House as Limbo, Asylum as Fraud, Coven as Treachery, Freak Show as Greed, Hotel as Gluttony, Roanoke as Anger, and Cult as Heresy. That leaves two more, Lust and Violence and Apocalypse sounds like the perfect opportunity for Violence.

This may mean we’re getting little Michael back, except this time he might be a fully grown man as charismatic and violent as his father, only worse. AHS doesn’t exactly follow a direct timeline, he could be any age by now.

The title isn’t the only suggestion of Michael Langdon’s return. The teaser poster for the season shows a baby with a black hand touching it. Though it’s not the same hand as the Rubber Man’s, it’s similar to the Murder House image of a black figure (The Rubber Man) reaching out for its unborn child still in Viven Harmon’s womb.

If all of this is true then it’s going to be an exciting season and might bring back fan-favorite, Tate Langdon. No matter how horrible Tate is, Evan Peters makes him impossible to dislike, especially when his huge brown eyes fill up with “nobody loves me tears.” Evan Peters is already playing a new character in season 8, a gay hair stylist with a sense of humor. Will he also play Tate again? It wouldn’t be the first time Peters has played more than one character in AHS. In Cult he played Kai, Andy Warhol and Charles Manson. He certainly has the ability to play totally different characters well enough to believe it’s not the same actor. Why doesn’t this guy have an Emmy yet?

This Devil theory might also be why the witches from Coven are appearing. They’ll use their powers to vanquish such evil. Sarah Paulson, Evan Peters, Kathy Bates, Joan Collins, Cheyenne Jackson, Billie Lourd, Leslie GrossmanBilly Eichner and Adina Porter are all confirmed to appear. Pray that Taissa Farmiga joins too, because if Tate makes an appearance then Violent has to be there too. They’re a packaged deal. Also pray that Jessica Lange returns as well. She is Michael’s grandmother and Tate’s mother, Constance Langdon, and is the one who raises Michael. Lange left the show after Freak Show and has shown no real interest in coming back, but with the possible Michael and Tate connection, she might make a surprise appearance.

What do you think of the Devil theory for American Horror Story season 8? Will Michael Langdon return or will he wait for the final season to return?
